In our first session, we will complete an assessment to understand what has you seeking therapy at this time. Questions such as your childhood, current and past concerns, past psychiatric experience, trauma, and family dynamics will be discussed. Clients will have the opportunity to ask questions about my practice and expertise. Together, we will identify goals and a treatment plan based on your needs. Lastly, scheduling will be discussed to attend to a mutually beneficial and flexible schedule for both of us!
I am kindhearted, passionate, and love what I do. I use EMDR with many of my clients due to its efficacy for many symptoms and concerns. I am outgoing, extremely empathic, goal-oriented, solution-focused, sensitive, genuine, creative, and reliable. I will likely reach out before your intake to ensure we could be a good mutual fit. If you do not see your insurance listed, please feel free to send me a message on my website: www.allisonlcsw.com. Please note I do not work with couples or eating disorders. Thank you!
EMDR allows client to reprocess grief, trauma, phobias, low self-esteem, inattention, procrastination, and any abuse. I am certified in this technique as of 2024.
Family systems therapy encourages assertive communication among family members. It does not identify on one person being the patient but rather the family as a whole. This helps greatly with my adolescent clients!
Specifically, ego states and inner child work. I have received multiple trainings on how to help heal our severed inner child parts through Ego states therapy. Kindly visit my website www.allisonlcsw.com for more information.
I engage in TFCBT with clients who are unwilling or unable to engage in EMDR. This works great with children and allows them to share their narrative, learn about emotions and coping skills, and eventually tell their trauma narrative.
