My goal is to help clients feel more empowered to make the decisions that will lead them to feeling more satisfied with themselves and their lives. Through therapy, clients can expect to feel affirmed and validated for taking this powerful step towards better self-care. Clients can expect to feel more in tune with themselves and more optimistic after one session.
During the first session, clients will share what is going on in their lives and minds that brought them to this counseling session. We will brainstorm how the client would like things to change and what we can do to see results.
My greatest strength is that I am supportive of where the client is at today, but I also bring some gentle encouragement to make positive changes. Clients find that they feel comfortable opening up to me, and they feel heard, not judged.
My clients are at least a little open minded about exploring what therapy has to offer, even if they have tried it in the past. My clients become willing to share openly with me, even if it takes some time to get comfortable.
With this approach, I help clients identify past successes and strengths to build solutions and strategies for managing stress in the future. We focus on what the client can do differently, encouraging hope and self-efficacy.
