Hi, I’m Beverly and I began seeing psychotherapy clients in January, 1999. I have long term, varied experience providing therapy in multiple settings, including private practice, online platforms, Kaiser Permanente department of psychiatry, outpatient clinics, Hospice, inpatient medical detox, and various school and university settings. I am also a Chopra certified meditation instructor. Currently, I work primarily with high functioning, high insight adult individuals in private practice, focusing on women’s issues, healthy relationship dynamics and skills, mind/body healing, and personal development and empowerment. I take an individually focused approach, created in partnership with each client, utilizing creativity, often image/metaphor, symbolic dream work and integrated somatic focus. I love to share the gifts gained as a Chopra instructor as well, to those interested in utilizing meditation. My aim is to create a safe, supportive, understanding space and for you to consistently leave feeling significantly better!

Starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even intimidating—and it’s worth taking a moment to recognize the courage it takes to take this first step toward caring for your mental health. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where you can explore challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-care, and more. My goal is to help you strengthen communication and boundaries with yourself and others so that you can improve your quality of life and move toward the future you envision. Therapy is not just about overcoming obstacles—it’s also about personal growth. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and identify strategies to help you move toward them, whether that means change over the next month, six months, or a year. You’ll leave our sessions with practical insights and “next steps” you can put into action right away. I believe life’s purpose isn’t simply to be happy, but to find meaning—and within that meaning, joy emerges. While the journey isn’t always easy, it can be transformative. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addictions Professional, Internationally Certified Drug Counselor, and Behavior Analyst. I take a strength-based approach, helping you use your unique abilities to address challenges. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to empower you in creating lasting change. Most importantly, I bring a relaxed, compassionate, and trustworthy presence, fostering a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe and supported.

Are you looking for a space to navigate current stressors—somewhere you can unwind and express thoughts or emotions that feel too heavy to carry alone? Do you want support in understanding mental health symptoms or building a personalized toolbox of coping skills? Hi, I’m Maryam. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, born and raised, and of Venezuelan descent. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish. I graduated from the University of South Florida with degrees in Psychology and Health Sciences and later earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University. My clinical experience includes working in mobile crisis response, outpatient counseling, addiction treatment, and telehealth therapy. Across all settings, my priority is to create a non-judgmental, safe, and welcoming environment where you can work toward your goals at a pace that feels right for you. I take a holistic approach and integrate a variety of therapeutic interventions, including art and music-inspired techniques, cognitive reframing to challenge negative self-talk, solution-focused strategies, and what I like to call “care-frontation.” I often offer optional tasks or reflections between sessions to help deepen your progress. I’d be honored to support you as we begin this healing journey together.

That's why I specialize in creating a space fostering safety, insight and empowerment to achieve the goals that you're aspiring for. As a relational therapist, I believe that healing happens best through connection and the ability to be your authentic self. Together, in our sessions, we will dig into what's happened in the past and what's going on now, working to uncover how it shows up in your body and your relationships. We'll explore those intense emotions, family dynamics, and complex feelings that you're struggling to understand and communicate. Processing in therapy isn't only verbal, so I enjoy using activities you're interested in to help you feel motivated and grounded. What's important to me is helping you find your way back to yourself and the connections that matter most, with quality time and good company. I enjoy connecting with others through my interests in cooking, baking, and hosting social gatherings.

Peace. Happiness. Love. Success. We seek them. We want them. As we see them within reach, we are knocked down by the challenges and difficulties of life. We find, instead, lives that are filled with anxiety, sadness, grief, trauma, loss and failure. I know this too well. I have experienced this in my own life and in the life of my clients. It does not matter where you are in your life. I have had celebrity clients at the top of their field. I have worked with gold medal athletes. I have worked with businessmen and women, housewives, families, adolescents. I have also worked with those who have lost everything to the ravishes of substance use and with men serving life in prison. It is possible to navigate the dangerous waters of life, but you will need a guide. I am that guide. I have excellent education from Palm Beach Atlantic University. I have a wealth of experience. I have over three decades of experience as a husband, father, grandfather, youth pastor, counselor and university professor. I have worked in the church, private practice (in Florida and the Bahamas), community mental health (specializing in crisis and families with at-risk-adolescents), foster care, substance abuse, juvenile justice and the prisons. I have maintained my relevance by teaching at the university level, advising a best-selling author on the psychological aspects of his book, and serving as a consultant to other mental health agencies. I have wonderful experience working with anxiety, depression, anger, parenting issues, challenging children and teenagers, grief, trauma, substance use issues, family and relationship issues, LGBT issues, and other issues and concerns. I have helped my clients find peace with themselves, with others and in their situations. I have helped my clients find happiness, even amid loss. I have helped my clients find belonging and love in healthy and supportive relationships. I have helped my clients increase their ability to succeed by changing their thinking. One of the foundations of my life and my work was written by M. Scott Peck in The Road Less Travelled. He wrote, “Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths… Life is a series of problems. Do we want to moan about them or solve them? Do we want to teach our children to solve them?” Let’s start today to solve some of life’s problems and to begin to grasp peace, happiness, love and success.

I currently serve as a Mental Health Specialist within a public school district, where I provide leadership, training, and support for school counselors, social workers, psychologists, and therapists to promote student mental health and academic success. Throughout my career, I have worked with adolescents, adults, families, and diverse populations facing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, behavioral challenges, trauma, life transitions, domestic violence, career concerns, and family stressors. * I am never enough and somehow always too much.* * I have always felt like the black sheep of the family.* Does this sound familiar? From the outside, you look like you have it all together, but on the inside it feels like a completely different story. ~I am currently accepting new clients~ My philosophy is that life is a journey and we can be thrown unexpected difficulties and challenges during the ride. My work centers on helping people navigate emotional ups and downs, major life transitions, and the lingering impact of early experiences that still shape how they move through the world today. I lean on evidence-based approaches, but I bring them into the room in a real, grounded way—so we’re not just talking about what’s hard, but actually uncovering root patterns and building tools that support real, lasting change. I believe that one of the most important parts of therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. Feeling safe, understood, and supported makes real healing possible. I work with young adults healing from childhood trauma and PTSD, and with individuals navigating major life changes related to medical conditions or aging. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence based practices to help you better understand yourself, build resilience, and regain a sense of control. Hey there! It is so nice to meet you. I'm Tanya Parnes, and I have been working with clients for over 15 years to help them overcome obstacles in their paths, find ways through their stressors and identify the solutions they already had within but just couldn't see. When I work with clients they often say, they really enjoy feeling heard, understood and relieved to feel less alone. I meet with a lot of people who feel truly stuck in their circumstances, and just cannot see a way out. They often feel stressed, frustrated and lonely. Everything seems like too much and they cannot figure it out no matter how many ways they've tried. I believe it is completely possible to get out of the same cycles that plague you & keep you stuck on that never ending hamster wheel. It is not always easy, but the end rewards make up for it. Learning to let go, realizing there is a way forward and seeing a future without the problems that have been recurring where things are more manageable than ever before is my goal. My clinical skills and techniques will help you get there by learning tools that help you end those cycles and start living the life you have always wanted and dreamed of. Together, we will find better ways to handle difficulties and work through tough times redirecting energy and focus to things that are in your control which you have the power to change!

I am licensed in Florida with 10+ years of professional work experience in conflict resolution and mental health counseling. I believe that empowerment is an essential and powerful tool in the healing process. I approach the therapist-client relationship with an open heart and mind, building upon trust, collaboration, and empathy to produce positive, transformative outcomes. I seek to facilitate change by entering the client’s psychological world, utilizing a phenomenological lens; this allows me to focus on the lived experiences of each individual and the personal meaning behind their circumstances past, present, and future to determine the most effective therapeutic interventions. My holistic approach to psychotherapy focuses on the overall relationship between mind, body & spirit. I have experience in helping clients with LGBTQ+ related issues, relationship issues, life transitions, family conflicts, coping with grief, coping with loss, motivation, and self esteem. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.

Hi, and welcome. I’m really glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward healing isn’t always easy, and the fact that you’re exploring support says a lot about your strength. Life can throw unexpected challenges our way, and sometimes those challenges make even the day‑to‑day feel overwhelming. I’m a licensed clinical social worker and qualified supervisor in the state of Florida. Since 2014, I’ve worked as a medical social worker in transplant, dialysis, and with individuals managing complex chronic and behavioral health needs. These experiences have taught me the importance of meeting people exactly where they are and honoring their lived experience. Hello! I’m a Florida-based Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, families, and groups across outpatient, inpatient, residential, and school-based settings. These experiences have shaped both who I am and how I approach therapy. I see therapy as a partnership built on trust, genuine connection, and empathy. I use an integrative, evidence-based approach tailored to your unique needs, while meeting you where you are and working together to understand what matters most to you.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker who is deeply curious about people, who we are, and what it takes to become who we want to be. I value authenticity, curiosity, and diverse perspectives. I believe understanding ourselves means looking at the whole picture: our experiences, relationships, identities, our communities and the systems that shape them. When we do that, we expand our capacity for connection, growth, and change. Healing is not always easy or linear; it requires us to grow, sit with discomfort, challenge what we know, and try something different. As the founder Sana Libre, a healing and learning practice, I cultivate spaces that offer people compassion, accountability, and grace.

I completed my Masters in 2005, while also starting my journey in the field in 2004. I spent a year working in Opiate addiction but my true passion was children and families. I moved on to intensive services, working with underserved children and their families in rural areas, from 2005-2007. After leaving that position, I moved onto a company doing similar work. where I continued to work with children, families and adults that were underserved for 5 more years. I provided therapy in homes, schools and the office setting. I began to focus in on Trauma work as well as anxiety disorders to include OCD and all other anxiety disorders. After spending nearly 10 years in the field, I decided to get my license in the state of Florida (LMHC-Licensed Mental Health Counselor) and move into a management role where I worked for the past 13 years while also maintaining private clients. I supervise therapists, working to become licensed, so I spend a lot of time consulting on cases of all kinds. In this time I was also trained in various forms of trauma based cognitive behavioral approaches as well as EMDR (still learning however).

I believe therapy is less about having all the answers and more about having a place where you can be honest about what’s really going on. Life can be complicated, and sometimes we just need someone who will listen without judgment, help us make sense of things, and walk alongside us as we figure out what comes next. My practice is grounded in connection, curiosity, and creating a space where you can show up as yourself. You don’t have to have the right words or know exactly where to begin. We can start wherever you are and take it from there. I’m interested in the whole person—not just the problem that brings you in. Together, we can explore the experiences, relationships, patterns, and beliefs that may be shaping how you see yourself and navigate the world. I also believe therapy should be useful outside the room, so our work can include practical tools and new ways of approaching the things that matter most to you. I don’t believe growth means becoming a different person. To me, it’s often about becoming more connected to who you already are—understanding yourself more deeply, trusting your voice, setting boundaries, and making choices that feel true to you. My hope is that our work feels like a genuine partnership: a place where you feel seen, understood, and supported while creating meaningful change in your life.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Florida. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
