My name is Kassiana Casimir, and I hold a Master of Science in Counselor Education. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida. I support individuals in managing emotional regulation, improving relationships, and navigating life transitions. I use evidence-based, culturally sensitive approaches to help clients gain insight, heal, and build healthier coping strategies in a safe, supportive environment.
In our first session, I focus on building rapport and creating a safe space where you feel heard and supported. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, review important background information, and begin to clarify your goals for treatment. I’ll also explain confidentiality, structure, and what our work together can look like moving forward.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to connect with clients through empathy, cultural sensitivity, and clear communication. I balance warmth with structure, helping clients feel both validated and challenged in ways that support growth. I’m also deeply committed to meeting each person where they are, while empowering them to move toward where they want to be.
I’m best positioned to serve adults and young adults who are seeking to manage anxiety, improve communication, heal from past trauma, and navigate complex relationship or family dynamics. I also work well with individuals feeling stuck or emotionally overwhelmed who want to become more self-aware and intentional in their lives.
I frequently use cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It's particularly effective for anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation. I guide clients through exercises that increase self-awareness and encourage healthier coping strategies.
Motivational interviewing is a core part of how I engage clients who may feel ambivalent about change. I use open-ended questions, affirmations, and reflective listening to help clients explore their values and strengthen their intrinsic motivation to reach their goals—especially in work related to anger, substance use, or relationship issues.
While I don't rely solely on traditional psychoanalysis, I do incorporate elements of psychodynamic exploration—helping clients understand how past experiences, attachment styles, and unconscious patterns may influence their current behaviors and relationships.
I use psychoeducation consistently to help clients better understand mental health symptoms, brain-body connections, and treatment tools. Whether we’re discussing the nervous system’s response to trauma or the purpose of boundaries, I believe informed clients feel more empowered in the therapeutic process.
I apply solution focused techniques to help clients set realistic, future-oriented goals and recognize their existing strengths. This approach is especially helpful in short-term work, EAP sessions, or when clients are in need of quick, practical solutions to immediate problems.
