Carsyn Pauley
Hi! I’m Carsyn, a counselor who believes therapy should feel comfortable, genuine, and judgment-free. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, parenting, and life transitions.
My background in psychology, counseling, and behavioral support shapes my passion for helping people better understand themselves and create meaningful change.

First session
Your first session is about getting to know each other and helping you feel comfortable. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you've been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our time together. We'll begin identifying goals, discussing what therapy might look like, and answering any questions you have. There's no pressure to have everything figured out right away!
Strengths
I bring compassion, curiosity, flexibility, and a little humor to sessions. I strive to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where clients feel heard and understood. My approach is collaborative and individualized, blending evidence-based strategies with genuine connection to help clients feel supported, build confidence, and work toward change.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are individuals who want to better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, or make meaningful changes but may not know where to start. I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, parenting challenges, or life transitions. You do not have to know exactly what you need from therapy to get started!
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The way we think about situations can often affect how we feel and respond to them. I use CBT to help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, explore how those thoughts impact emotions and behaviors, and practice new ways of responding. We work together to build practical skills that can be used in everyday life.
Supportive
Sometimes you just need a space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and know you aren't being judged. Supportive therapy focuses on providing encouragement, validation, and a safe space to process life's challenges. I help clients work through difficult experiences, recognize their strengths, and feel supported as they navigate change.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Rather than spending all our time focusing on what's going wrong, we also explore what's going well and what you want to be different. I use this approach to help clients identify their strengths, recognize what is already working, and set realistic, meaningful goals. We focus on small steps that can create positive changes over time.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I believe you are the expert on your own life, and therapy should be a space where you feel comfortable being yourself. This approach focuses on building a genuine, trusting relationship where you feel heard, accepted, and understood. I meet clients where they are, without judgment, and support them in exploring their experiences and finding their own path forward.
Play Therapy
For children, talking isn't always the easiest way to express feelings or work through challenges. Play can provide a natural way for children to communicate, explore emotions, and learn new skills. I incorporate activities, games, art, and other creative approaches to help children feel comfortable while building emotional awareness, coping skills, and confidence.
