Sean Moran
Welcome! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who believes that meaningful change begins with feeling heard, understood, and supported. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each person's unique experiences and goals.
I believe therapy should feel like a natural conversation where you can be yourself.
I strive to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where we can explore challenges, gain new perspectives, and develop practical tools for lasting personal growth.
First session
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a connection. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you've been experiencing, and what you'd like to get out of our time together. We'll explore your goals and discuss how we can work together in a way that feels right for you. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and comfortable taking the next steps together.
Strengths
I connect with people in a genuine, compassionate, and nonjudgmental way. I believe therapy should feel like a natural conversation where you can be yourself. My approach combines listening, understanding, honest feedback, and gentle challenges when helpful. I work collaboratively with clients to explore different perspectives, recognize patterns, build on their strengths, and find practical ways to navigate life's challenges.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with people who want to better understand themselves and make positive changes. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to figure it all out alone. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive space where we can explore challenges, recognize your strengths, and find ways to move forward together.
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Sometimes we get so caught up in difficult thoughts and feelings that they keep us from living the way we want to. With Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we'll work together to find ways to handle those experiences without letting them control your choices. We'll also explore what's important to you and how you can take steps toward the life you want to live, even when things feel challenging.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Sometimes the way we think about things can affect how we feel and what we do. With CBT, we'll take a closer look at those connections and see if there are patterns that might be getting in your way. Together, we'll explore different ways of looking at situations and find practical ways to handle challenges, manage difficult emotions, and make changes that feel helpful to you.
Motivational Interviewing
Sometimes we know we want things to change, but we're not quite sure where to start or how to move forward. With Motivational Interviewing, we'll talk about what's important to you, what you'd like to be different, and what's been holding you back. I'm not here to tell you what to do. Instead, we'll work together to explore your options and figure out what feels right for you.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Sometimes it helps to focus less on what's going wrong and more on what you'd like to see change. With Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, we'll talk about your goals, what's already working in your life, and the strengths you can build on. Together, we'll look for small, realistic steps that can help you move toward where you want to be.
