Hello, my name is Rob Park, and I am a licensed psychologist in California. Are you a child, teen, young adult, or the parent/guardian of one, finding that there is a LOT going on in life, and feel anxious, overwhelmed, and stressed-out? I have over 20 years of experience providing an emotionally safe, validating environment in which to engage young people and their parents/guardians in this collaborative task of therapy. I aspire to provide support and skill-development for kids and teens, as well as providing support to parents and guardians in the difficult role of raising a family. I bring a positive, strengths-based, person-centered and culturally-informed approach to therapy. I feel therapy works best when there is a solid connection and alliance between client and therapist to work toward treatment goals.
You can expect me to immediately work to earn your trust in a non-judgmental way, in order to help you feel more comfortable in therapy. I want to understand you (both child/teen and parent/guardian) and the hopes you have for therapy, and to develop treatment goals and a treatment plan in a collaborative process.
My strengths include a passion for helping people: kids, teens, young adults, and their parents/guardians, which I have done for over 19 years. I feel that I connect with a wide range of kids and teens, and I emphasize being genuine and real, and bring an approach that includes humor, when appropriate. Life stress and mental health are not "one size fits all" - I value the unique stories and perspectives young people have, and I aim to help provide a path to improved well-being.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, parents/guardians, as well as young adults ages 18-25 transitioning to "adulting."
I integrate a variety of treatment methods, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems Therapies.
