My goal as a therapist is to help clients face both the real and perceived challenges in their lives with clarity, support, and renewed strength. I approach each person as a unique human being with their own story, strengths, and struggles, and I see therapy as a collaborative process of moving forward together. I work in a way that is direct and pragmatic, drawing on psychoeducation and clinical experience to give clients new ways of seeing, understanding, and coping with life’s difficulties. At the same time, my style is deeply connection-based, rooted in empathy and authenticity, with room for levity when appropriate. I am a hopeful therapist who believes in the process of growth and in our ability as human beings to continually renew ourselves. I find it a genuine honor to share in a client’s journey, and I approach the work with respect, presence, and care. I work with a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety and anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, relationship and coupling challenges, parenting stress, OCD, and many others.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first meeting is an opportunity to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to counseling. It’s a chance for you to share your story at your own pace, and for us to begin building the trust and connection that make therapy effective. Together, we’ll start to outline an initial understanding of your concerns and sketch out a plan for moving forward that feels clear and workable.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My specialty is in fielding a multitude of clinical presentations and helping clients parse out next steps and possibilities. We can often feel stuck, and even more so when we've been through the mental health and medical systems with its often disconnected nature. While I don't over-rely on diagnosis, I find that having an accurate diagnosis and understanding of the client's overall presentation often informs a more precise understanding and "treatment", either by clinical means such as within therapy and utilizing medications (when necessary or advantageous) and/or by the client's development and insights.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

I view every client as a unique individual, shaped by their own story and context, while also connected to the broader experience of being human. My work is grounded in the principles of humanistic psychotherapy, where healing and growth emerge through empathy, authenticity, and genuine connection. I believe the therapeutic relationship is not just professional but deeply personal — the person of the therapist meeting the person of the client. Through this relational foundation, clients are supported to explore their own meaning, develop resilience, and cultivate greater alignment between who they are and how they live.I bring a pragmatic and connection-based approach to therapy, blending empathy with clinical clarity to support meaningful progress. While our work is grounded and focused, I also bring in moments of levity where appropriate, helping create a balanced space that feels both safe and human.

Having dealt with mental illness for much of my life, I’m pretty straight forward in my approach to therapy. There is nothing wrong kinder, gentler approaches, I know they help many people. Me, I just need to talk through things, figure out where I am and how to move forward. Some of those forward directions hit on my instabilities and reactions that come from years of abuse, neglect, and gaslighting; and I don’t always see the path as clearly as someone on the outside. Crossroads suck.
