(she/her)
I come to my practice with life experience and have lived in Europe and know the challenges of making life transitions. I use a laid back approach and focus on meeting the clients where they are to really understand the changes they wish to make. I firmly believe in the therapeutic allegiance and the client therapist working together for the optimum outcome.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I reassure people that therapy is like a conversation but one in which you can speak openly and confidentially, while explaining the limits of confidentiality.
I believe my life experience is my greatest strength and my deep natural empathy for the needs of others. I also feel invested in seeing clients improve their lives so that they can live more freely and confidently.
I have worked in a hospital setting and hospice so I have a rich robust knowledge of the challenges of adapting to a new medical diagnosis as well as the dying process and grief. I have worked with clients who have panic attacks and anxiety as well as depression and suicidality.
I have worked using the CBT model and find it is effective with a wide range of challenges and is a proven way to help clients find control over these challenges while also feeling empowered to continue to grow.
