I Work with children adolescents, teens, adults, and elderly adults in behavioral mental health. I offer evidence-based care while maintaining a supportive, compassionate, and judgment-free environment for my clients. My approach to medication management can be traditional, patient-centered, and collaborative (prescribing up-to-date psychiatric medications) or alternative medicine (natural treatments including but not limited to vitamins, supplements, lifestyle modification- diet, exercise, etc.) I believe in the mind, body and spiritual connection, and seek to incorporate all three in my individualized evaluations.
Diagnosis and Understanding: Clients can expect a thorough assessment to diagnose their mental health condition. I will help them understand their diagnosis, its underlying causes, and how it may be impacting their thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Treatment Options: I offer a range of treatment options, talk therapy including medication management, or a combination of both. They will discuss the potential benefits, risks, and side effects of each option and work collaboratively with the client to develop a personalized treatment plan. Medication Management (if applicable): For clients prescribed medication, I will closely monitor its effectiveness and any side effects. If necessary I will adjust medication dosages, switch medications, or provide recommendations based on the client's response. Symptom Management: Clients can learn strategies and coping techniques to manage their symptoms. This might involve learning how to handle stress, anxiety, depression, or other specific challenges related to their mental health condition.
Insight and Self-Awareness: Through the therapeutic process, clients can gain insight into their thought patterns, behaviors, and emotions. This self-awareness can empower them to make positive changes in their lives and develop healthier ways of thinking and behaving. Emotional Support: I can provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to express their feelings and concerns. Having an empathetic and supportive professional to talk to can be beneficial in reducing feelings of isolation and promoting emotional well-being. Goal Setting: We can set achievable goals related to their mental health. These goals might include improving relationships, increasing self-confidence, managing symptoms, or pursuing personal growth. Collaboration: Clients can expect to actively participate in their treatment plan, provide feedback on their progress, and engage in open and honest conversations. It's important to note that the specific outcomes of psychiatric sessions can vary widely depending on the individual's unique circumstances, the severity of their condition, their willingness to engage in the therapeutic process, and the expertise of the psychiatric nurse practitioner. Long-Term Strategies: I can help clients develop long-term strategies to maintain their mental well-being. This could involve teaching stress management techniques, promoting healthy lifestyle changes, and encouraging ongoing self-care.
I can work with individuals across the lifespan, from children to older adults. I am trained to address mental health concerns specific to different age groups and developmental stages.
