Hi. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in CA. I earned my Master's degree in 2016, but have been serving communities in the field of Social Work, for over a decade. I have been developing my skills in both private practice and community mental health. I have served dozens of children and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, post-partum, infertility, and couples in both settings.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Therapy is a place to provide tools that help you develop coping skills, regulate emotions, and decrease overall distress. I believe there is not one size fits all in terms of what helps clients improve their lives. I will implement skills from different orientations that suit your specific needs and tailor your treatment plan accordingly. I am aware of cultural diversity and provide a safe space. I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and adolescents struggling with Trauma, Perinatal Mood, and Anxiety Disorders. I am eclectic, and use tools and modalities such as DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), Brainspotting, EFT (emotionally focused therapy), DIR floor therapy, play therapy, infant mental health, working with bonding and attachment, and infant massage will help you reach your goals. My approach to therapy is strength-based, built on the foundation of trust and respect, to help you improve functioning and develop skills based on your abilities and needs. In individual therapy, I often combine DBT and brainspotting to help you heal. I believe in being transparent with my clients and providing at the moment realistic feedback. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible and leave each therapy session feeling like you gained insight, skills, and emotional regulation you didn't have previously.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest attributes are being a good listener, holding each client in unconditional regard, and being respectful of each client’s process. Listening without judgement and providing a safe space. I am very observant, respectful, and will build trust in our sessions. I have worked with women, children, and family for over 10 years. My personal life experiences also allow me empathy and understanding when it comes to women’s issues.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is an innovative therapy using aspects of EMDR, mindfulness, and brain and body-based therapies. Brainspotting is based on the belief that certain eye positions can evoke emotions, sensations, and memories because they access specific 'brainspots' where traumatic memories are stored. As a Brainspotting therapist I use this to work with emotions, and feelings from the inside out. It is powerful to witness client’s find healing, knowledge, and reconnect to their bodies.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) therapist, I’ve worked with clients going through emotional dysregulation, self-harm, anxiety and other complex challenges. Through the implementation of DBT, I’ve empowered clients to work with mindfulness, manage distress, and improve interpersonal relationships. My experience has involved guiding clients in navigating the negative self-talk, acceptance and change, using DBT and the DBT skills. I’ve seen remarkable transformations as clients develop the skills necessary to regulate their emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, and enhance their overall well-being.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

s a EFT (emotionally focused therapy) EFT therapist creates safety, deepens people's emotions using the attachment frame, to the soft feelings, the fears, the sadness, the hurts, sometimes even the shame underneath their reactive responses to each other, and then helps them send clear signals to their partner in very powerful way. My approach is to help couple understand each other and be vulnerable in this space.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed therapy considers the complex impact of trauma on the individual's well-being and how it shapes a person's ability to cope. Unlike traditional therapy, trauma-informed treatment integrates an awareness of trauma into every aspect of treatment while making safety a priority for clients. As a therapist I Understand how trauma can affect people, including how mental health problems can be reactions to trauma. My trauma-informed approach begins with understanding the physical, social, and emotional impact of trauma on the individual.
