Hello and welcome! Asking for help is no small feat, and your being here means you are taking that courageous first step toward your emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being! My name is Sarah and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker experienced in working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues and codependency, low self-esteem, identity, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I take a whole person approach to help you gain the hope, skills, and confidence to navigate life’s challenges, make meaningful change, and manage your mental health and well-being and successfully. Together we can work to build the bridge from where you are now to a life with more joy, resilience, and possibility. You are no less worthy than anyone else of a full and meaningful life, and I believe that whole-heartedly. I am here to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for you to find growth and healing. I will meet you where you are at, remain open and curious about your experiences, and partner with you to identify and work towards your goals. I believe in the healing power of showing up authentically, creating a trusting relationship with you, and even sharing some laughs along the way.
In our first session together, we will get to know one another and your hopes and expectations for therapy. We will collaborate together to identify the kind of therapeutic support you are looking for and what treatment goals would address the issues that brought you to therapy.
After getting to know you and your hopes for therapy, I will then collaborate with you to develop goals to address the most distressing aspects of your life. We will begin to use an integrative approach to talk therapy and incorporate evidence-based tools such as CBT to shift unhelpful thinking and behavior, DBT techniques for emotional regulation, narrative therapy to reframe internalized negative stories, and psychoeducation to help you understand the symptoms and patterns you experience. I also use mindfulness, creative expression, and guided movement to assist in your self-healing journey.
I feel my greatest strength as a clinician is helping you feel safe being your authentic self - the good, the bad, and everything in between - so that we can do the hard work together without fear of judgement or rejection. My past experience helping individuals dealing with addiction and mental illness to navigate their lowest moments, heal significant traumas and loss, and rebuild their lives has given me tremendous respect for the resilience and capacity for growth that all people have, regardless of where they are starting on this journey.
