About me

Hello there. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in California. I have experience working with youth and adults from a variety of backgrounds. I provide individual therapy using strategies that are tailored to fit you. In sessions I often use elements of CBT and Attachment Theory. I also draw from Solution Focused Therapy, and am mindful of using trauma informed care. I show up with empathy, humor, and patience, and I value working collaboratively alongside my clients. I believe that you are the expert on your life and my role is to provide support and guidance along the way. I often help people struggling with depression and anxiety, family and relationship challenges, career and school stress, and self-esteem. I'm glad you're here and I look forward to meeting you!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I will start by introducing myself, and briefly share some information on policies and procedures. After that, you can expect to share a bit about yourself, including what brings you into therapy and what your goals are. This is more of a get to know you session, and you get to set the pace and share what is comfortable for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Those who know me in my personal and professional life would say that I am a calm, grounded, and approachable person. I have also had my own journey in therapy, so I know what it feels like to be the client in the room. These qualities helps me be compassionate and authentic, and create a safe space for growth and healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Many of the people I work with are feeling stressed and unhappy in their lives, but are unsure of what to do. I love helping others break down their goals, overcome that feeling of being stuck, and find coping skills they feel can actually help manage their thoughts and behavior. Wherever you are on your journey, I'm here for you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have 8 years of experience using CBT techniques to help clients reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve self esteem, and cultivate healthier relationships. I aim to support client's in understanding the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and learning tools to challenge and reframe distressing thoughts that are contributing to distress.

Attachment-based

I use Attachment Based therapy to explore experiences of early childhood, particularly relationships with adult caregivers, that may be contributing to difficulties in adulthood. Attachment wounds can lead to unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior, low self-esteem, and difficulty forming healthy personal relationships with others.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT concepts to help client's notice their thoughts and emotions and accept them without judgment in order to reduce distress and increase self-compassion. I also support clients in identifying what they value in life and finding ways to pursue more of those things to create greater life satisfaction.

I have a lot to sort out to find peace for myself and safety. Trust issues BIG time. Not being believed. BUT that is in the past, and I want a clear, defined, safe future for myself.
