Libby Supan is a licensed marriage and family therapist, certified intuitive eating counselor, and someone who brings deep personal insight to her work after recovering from a 20-year battle with an eating disorder. Her lived experience is the foundation of her passionate commitment to helping others heal. Libby runs a therapy and coaching practice that supports individuals who feel overwhelmed by constant thoughts about food and body image. She specializes in guiding those stuck in unhealthy eating patterns, such as emotional eating, overeating, binge eating, and restricting food, toward intuitive eating and lasting food freedom. In addition to food and body image work, Libby also supports clients navigating depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, codependency (people pleasing), perfectionism (black and white thinking), and the stress that comes from trying to manage it all.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect to leave sessions feeling seen, supported, and challenged, in a good way. My work is compassionate, but it’s also direct. I help people get underneath the patterns that keep them stuck, whether that’s with food, their body, relationships, or the way they talk to themselves, and start shifting those patterns in a way that’s sustainable and self-respecting. Clients can expect a space where there’s no pressure to be perfect, where nuance is welcome, and where we don’t do shame. My goal is for them to leave sessions with more clarity, more self-trust, and practical tools they can actually use in real life. Whether we’re talking about food, anxiety, or people-pleasing, I want them to feel like they’re not alone, and that lasting change is possible.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is that I’ve lived it; I recovered from an eating disorder and have personally experienced anxiety and depression. I understand how overwhelming it can feel. This insight allows me to connect with clients in a real, non-judgmental way. My approach combines evidence-based methods with deep empathy, helping clients feel seen, supported, and capable of lasting change. I meet each person where they are and offer both practical tools and emotional clarity to move forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Although I specialize in eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns, I also work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, perfectionism, and codependency. My ideal clients often feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them—whether it’s with food, emotions, or relationships—and are ready to explore a new way forward. They're thoughtful, self-aware, and want more freedom, confidence, and clarity in their lives, even if they’re not sure how to get there yet.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients recognize how their thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns and practice more supportive ways of thinking to reduce distress and create lasting change.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT to help clients focus on strengths, solutions, and what’s already working. Together, we set clear goals and explore small, practical steps to move forward, rather than staying stuck in the problem.

Motivational Interviewing

I use MI to help clients explore their own reasons for change in a supportive, non-judgmental way. It’s especially helpful when someone feels stuck or unsure, allowing us to strengthen motivation and build confidence to move forward.
