As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I specialize in working with adults, couples, and adolescents who feel overwhelmed by trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted — stuck in negative thought patterns, disconnected from their partner, constantly on edge, or weighed down by past experiences they cannot seem to move beyond. In our work together, I provide a supportive, structured, and collaborative space where we identify patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop practical tools that create meaningful change. I integrate evidence-based approaches to help you regulate emotions, improve communication, strengthen boundaries, and rebuild trust — both with yourself and with others. Therapy is about helping you understand your story, shift unhelpful cycles, and move toward the life and relationships you want. If you are ready to feel more grounded, connected, and empowered, I invite you to reach out. Change begins with one conversation — and you do not have to navigate this alone.

Hello, I’m Corrine. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and that’s completely understandable. It can also be the beginning of meaningful growth and change. In our work together, I aim to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. Side by side, we’ll explore the patterns and beliefs that influence how you relate to others and how you show up in your life. By connecting your past experiences with what’s happening now, our goal will be to uncover what’s no longer serving you and begin healing the roots of anxiety, depression, or trauma. My hope is to help you develop healthy ways to cope, build stronger relationships, and feel more confident and grounded as you move forward—so you can live with greater clarity, ease, self-trust and a sense of agency over your life.

My practice, Raíz Psychotherapy, is deeply grounded in the understanding of how systemic issues of the world we live in play major roles in our mental health. Acknowledging the system impacts to individuals’’ lives, I take a liberatory approach as we dive deeper in our work together to explore the factors influencing your day-to-day life to better support you in meeting your therapeutic goals. I love to work with people who are motivated to engage in therapy, and that can look many different ways. Sometimes motivation manifests as curiosity to look at certain patterns or areas of your life in new ways, it can also look like knowing exactly what changes you want to make in your life and knowing it's time to start that work, and or others being motivated looks like finally taking the big step to ask for support. Regardless of how motivation looks for you, if this resonates with you, we can do great work together to get to the root of your experience and create change. Past clients have described me as collaborative, understanding, trustworthy, authentic, and supportive.

Hi, I'm Karen Lopez, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), artist, and lifelong student of human behavior. I believe healing begins in a space where you feel safe enough to be fully yourself—without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I integrate evidence-based therapies with mindfulness, creativity, somatic awareness, and practical tools to help clients better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. My own life has been shaped by profound loss, family trauma, major life transitions, and the experience of rebuilding my identity through seasons of uncertainty. Those experiences don't define my work, but they have deepened my empathy and strengthened my belief in each person's capacity for growth. I don't see people as broken—I see people who have learned to survive, and together we can explore new ways of living that feel more authentic, connected, and fulfilling.

I maintained a private practice in Ventura, CA for about 35 years as a marriage and family therapist and i worked with children, teenagers, adults and couples. About 8 years ago my wife and i moved to Oakland, Ca to be closer to our adult children and our two granddaughters. For the past five years i have volunteered at City Team, Oakland which is a residential placement for men with anger and addiction problems, I wrote the book that i am using to teach the men at City Team and i have self published six other books on parenting, marriage and personal issues; a couple of titles are "Dragon Slaying for Parents (and Couples)" , "The Lost Aspect of Love (sympathy)", "Winning at a Losing Game" and "The First Pictorial Self-Help Book for Men Who Do Not Read". I have conducted hundreds of seminars on parenting, marriage and personal issues. I obtained a masters degree in Petroleum Engineering at UC Berkeley, and worked for Shell Company for five years; not wanting my epitaph to read that i made 10 billion dollars for an oil company and returned to school to obtain a Masters Degree in Counseling. I was a School Psychologist for a school district for five years then opened up my private practice. This experience has proven to be very valuable in counseling with adults,

Currently not accepting couples, fully accepting you! I work exclusively with adults in individual therapy. If you’ve been stuck in the endless therapist scroll, trying to figure out who actually feels safe, relatable, and honest enough to open up to... welcome! I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Iowa with an emphasis in mental health. This background allows me to approach your concerns with a holistic and informed perspective. Many of the people I work with are carrying anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, identity exploration, burnout, anger, shame, grief, or the pressure of always having to “hold it together.” Some feel disconnected from themselves. Others are tired of surviving and want to start living more intentionally. My approach is warm, grounded, direct, and deeply human. Therapy with me is not about analyzing you from a distance or pretending to have all the answers. It is a collaborative space where you can slow down, speak honestly, make sense of your experiences, and begin responding to yourself and your life differently. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I balance compassion with honesty. I will support you, challenge you when needed, and help you notice patterns that may no longer serve you without judgment or shame. I work best with clients who are open to reflection, ready for meaningful change, and willing to engage in the process at their own pace. If you’re looking for a therapist who feels authentic, conversational, and intentional in the work, we may be a good fit.

I’m Arturo, and I’m honored you’re here. My work as a therapist is grounded in resilience, compassion, and deep respect for the courage it takes to ask for support. After 24 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, including combat deployments, I transitioned into clinical work, earning a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (MFT) from Pepperdine University. For the past four years, I’ve worked with underrepresented communities, supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and major life transitions. I’m especially committed to creating a safe, confidential space where men can speak openly—man to man—about the challenges we often carry silently. I also work with couples using Gottman‑informed approaches to improve communication, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional connection. Whether you’re seeking clarity, emotional relief, or stronger relationships, I offer practical tools, steady support, and a collaborative path toward healing and meaningful change.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming — especially if you’ve spent years feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or trapped in unhealthy relationship patterns. You may be carrying the effects of trauma, chronic stress, people-pleasing, or narcissistic abuse while trying to hold everything together on the outside. If that sounds familiar, you are not alone, and healing is possible. I work with adults and adolescents who struggle with anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, emotional overwhelm, relationship wounds, and the lasting impact of narcissistic or emotionally abusive partner or parent/childhood relationships. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in survival mode — constantly overthinking, walking on eggshells, questioning themselves, or feeling emotionally drained. Together, we work to help you feel safer in your body, more confident in your boundaries, and more connected to who you truly are. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in creating a space where you feel genuinely seen and understood without judgment. I believe therapy should feel supportive and empowering, not clinical or cold. I integrate evidence-based approaches while also focusing deeply on emotional safety, self-awareness, nervous system regulation, and practical tools you can use in everyday life. Whether you are recovering from trauma, navigating difficult partner relationships, struggling with anxiety, or trying to rebuild your sense of self after emotional abuse, therapy can help you regain clarity, confidence, and peace. You do not have to continue carrying this alone. Reaching out for help takes courage. If you’re ready to begin healing and creating healthier patterns, I’d be honored to support you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over nine years of experience supporting individuals and families in social work and behavioral health settings, including three years providing direct therapy services. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse populations facing a variety of challenges, which has strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, trauma-informed, and person-centered care. I am passionate about guiding individuals through life's challenges while fostering self-esteem, confidence, and a deep sense of worthiness, wholeness, and belonging. I believe meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space grounded in authenticity, empathy, cultural humility, and collaboration. My approach is attentive, honest, and tailored to the unique needs and goals of each person I serve. My goal is to collaborate with those I serve to build insight, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change so they can live more fulfilling and purposeful lives. Together, we will navigate challenges, identify strengths, and develop practical tools that support growth and well-being. Outside of my professional life, family is at the heart of who I am. I am the proud parent of seven children—three biological, two fostered, and two adopted. With my youngest recently turning 18, I am embracing an exciting new chapter of life. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors at the lake, beach, or mountains, hiking, picnicking, and appreciating the peace that nature provides. My greatest joy is spending time with family and friends, especially my grandchildren. I believe healing happens through connection, compassion, and courage, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you navigate your journey toward greater wellness, growth, and fulfillment.

Hello! My name is Pa. I am an individual, mother, wife, daughter, and a Hmong-American woman. I became a psychotherapist because I grew up witnessing how mental health is often dismissed in diverse ethnic communities. I saw how generational trauma affects our minds, bodies, and souls. These experiences fueled my passion to become a therapist who can connect and support individuals with diverse backgrounds. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I take a client-centered approach where I tailor our sessions to address your needs and goals. I provide a safe and supportive space for you to just be yourself. Together, we will identify and set goals that address your needs and concerns. We can also adjust and change goals as needed to adapt to the evolution of your journey.

Sydelcis Mendez (Syd) is a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in crisis, trauma, anxiety, and stress management as it relates to individuals, couples, and families during life transitions. Raised in the Bronx by her Dominican family, she witnessed the gaps in resources and opportunities for individuals of different backgrounds. Syd became a therapist after seeing the mental health strains in her community and noting the underrepresentation of qualified providers who provided culturally-sensitive treatment and systems-oriented support. Throughout her career, she has served individuals grappling with substance use challenges, homelessness/transient issues, health concerns, developmental needs, sexual assault, domestic violence, addiction, military service/veteran affairs issues, as well as family or marital challenges.

Hello! I’m Brenda De Monge, a passionate Marriage and Family Therapist with over 21 years of experience in community mental health. Helping and supporting youth, parents, & individuals from various cultures & socio-economic backgrounds affected by trauma. When working with trauma, sexual, physical, emotional, and domestic violence, my number one priority is safety & meeting my clients where they are, by supporting them & reaching their goals. I use these treatment methods: • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In my practice, I have used CBT to help clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. CBT is effective in understanding how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. We can implement this in therapy to help you live a less anxious and stressful life. • Trauma-Focused CBT is a short-term therapy designed for children ages 3-18 who have experienced various types of traumas, including physical, emotional, & sexual abuse. When working with young children, the parents/caregivers are key, as they provide ongoing support. By attending sessions, parents will gain a deeper understanding of the root causes of the issues. Over the past 20 years, I have worked with families using this model, & it has been helpful to them. • Seeking Safety is a treatment approach I have used with clients for more than 15 years. It assists individuals dealing with trauma & addiction by emphasizing safety and coping skills. • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) has proven to be a helpful approach in easing obsessive thoughts, reducing intrusive memories, & empowering clients to stay calm while learning ways to handle future challenges and symptoms. Since 2019, I’ve supported children, teens, & adults in managing their post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, & panic disorder through EMDR. In addition, I’ve helped clients with war-related trauma & child sexual assault.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Domestic Violence, is filtering therapists in California that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
