Hi, I’m Yoana Luna, LMFT (#160919), a bilingual Spanish‑English therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting children, adults, couples, and families. My approach is warm, person‑centered, and grounded in deep respect for each client’s lived experience. As a Latina therapist, I understand how powerful it is to sit with someone who shares your language, culture, and values. Much of my work with Latino clients centers on storytelling, where dichos, family roles, respeto, and generational expectations shape how we make meaning of our lives. I create a space where clients can speak freely — in English, Spanish, or Spanglish — and explore the emotions tied to their stories without judgment. Together, we look at generational trauma, cultural resilience, and the strengths that have helped you survive difficult moments. I specialize in couples counseling, domestic violence recovery, trauma‑informed care, CBT, family conflict, grief, and anxiety. Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, healing from past harm, or trying to break long‑standing family patterns, I help you feel seen, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change. My goal is to offer a therapeutic space where you feel connected, understood, and safe enough to grow. When you’re ready, I’m here to walk with you toward healing and stronger relationships.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist who helps people understand themselves on a deeper level and change patterns that keep showing up in their lives. Many of my clients appear to have it together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck internally. They often find themselves repeating the same cycles in relationships, overextending themselves, or struggling to manage their emotions in a way that feels grounded and consistent. I am direct and honest in how I show up. I create a space where you feel supported while also being challenged to grow. I pay attention to patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck, and I help you begin to shift them in a way that is realistic and sustainable. My focus is not just on talking through problems, but on helping you build awareness and take action so that change happens outside of session as well. My work centers on anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I support clients in building emotional awareness, strengthening regulation, setting boundaries, and understanding how past experiences influence current patterns. Many of the clients I work with are ready to take a deeper look at themselves and move out of survival mode into a more intentional way of living. I use approaches such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy, and I tailor the work to each client's needs. Whether you are just starting therapy or returning to continue your growth, I meet you where you are and support you in doing the work to create meaningful change.

I am an LCSW licensed in California and Hawaii. I provide inclusive and culturally guided processing therapy as a specialist in high or recurrent symptoms that were not changed by talk therapy. As an EMDR therapist my work centers on helping heal from the impacts of trauma while honoring the cultural, historical and relational contexts in which trauma exists. Many wounds are not only personal but also intergenerational, systemic and shaped by oppression, displacement and historical harm. Healing from anxiety and depression, putting everyone before you, is not about fixing people its about helping them reclaim the parts of themselves that trauma took away. I support clients in processing painful experiences while also reconneccting to their resilience. I enjoy working with kids, teens, parents and people who are motivated to participate in evidence based trauma therapy. I enjoy working with adults who struggle with anger management. It's important to identify and understand the root cause of anger . Often, clients discover that hurt, shame, fear, embarrassment or loss are the triggers to unresolved anger. The good news is this can be solved, allowing clients to live more healthy, nurturing and fulfilled lives. I use a strength based, skill driven, cognitive approach that is backed by research. Focus is given on identifying and eliminating thinking patterns that lead to unwanted aggressive behavior, homework assignments are provided to track daily thoughts and emotions and communication skills are taught to help you say what you mean - in a meaningful way.

Hi, I’m Kelly Castillo, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). With 15 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals navigate some of life’s most painful and transformative moments. Many of the people I work with come to therapy carrying the weight of childhood trauma, grief and loss, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, or major life transitions. Others feel stuck—uncertain about what’s next or how to move forward. Wherever you find yourself, you deserve a space where your experiences are validated and your healing is supported. My mission is to help you reconnect with your strengths, rediscover your voice, and move toward the best version of yourself. Therapy can be a powerful pathway to insight, relief, and growth—a place where you don’t need to have everything figured out. Instead, it offers room to explore, question, heal, and gradually build the life you want with guidance and support. I offer an honest, compassionate, and relatable approach to therapy. My goal is to create a safe, grounded environment where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered. I tailor each session to your individual needs and goals, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) along with integrative, client-centered approaches. This flexibility allows me to meet you where you are and support you as you move toward where you want to be. Through my work in diverse clinical settings, I’ve learned that no two healing journeys are alike. Your story is uniquely your own—and your therapy should reflect that. I’m committed to walking alongside you, at your pace, using strategies that align with your values, strengths, and lived experience. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but together, we’ll navigate challenges, uncover your resilience, and build tools that foster clarity, confidence, and peace. I’m honored to support you in whatever comes next.

Hello! I’m Brenda De Monge, a passionate Marriage and Family Therapist with over 21 years of experience in community mental health. Helping and supporting youth, parents, & individuals from various cultures & socio-economic backgrounds affected by trauma. When working with trauma, sexual, physical, emotional, and domestic violence, my number one priority is safety & meeting my clients where they are, by supporting them & reaching their goals. I use these treatment methods: • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In my practice, I have used CBT to help clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. CBT is effective in understanding how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. We can implement this in therapy to help you live a less anxious and stressful life. • Trauma-Focused CBT is a short-term therapy designed for children ages 3-18 who have experienced various types of traumas, including physical, emotional, & sexual abuse. When working with young children, the parents/caregivers are key, as they provide ongoing support. By attending sessions, parents will gain a deeper understanding of the root causes of the issues. Over the past 20 years, I have worked with families using this model, & it has been helpful to them. • Seeking Safety is a treatment approach I have used with clients for more than 15 years. It assists individuals dealing with trauma & addiction by emphasizing safety and coping skills. • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) has proven to be a helpful approach in easing obsessive thoughts, reducing intrusive memories, & empowering clients to stay calm while learning ways to handle future challenges and symptoms. Since 2019, I’ve supported children, teens, & adults in managing their post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, & panic disorder through EMDR. In addition, I’ve helped clients with war-related trauma & child sexual assault.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Domestic Violence?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Domestic Violence, is filtering therapists in California that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
