If you're struggling with stressors, attempting to heal from past traumas, facing anxiety in certain areas of life, or are feeling down I can help you navigate these difficulties. I specialize in anxiety and trauma as well as female and maternal mental health. I have a very person centered approach; meaning that I try to understand fully what brings you in and where you are coming from. Once we have a solid foundation of understanding I assist in evaluating beliefs and processes that keep people stuck, I provide practical skills for relief, and break down barriers to creating and maintaining new habits. I know it can feel overwhelming as you decide who to trust with these needs, your comfort, safety and needs are my main concern. I'll meet you where you are to build a trusting relationship with you and once that is in place you will have a solid foundation for then trusting the process.

I’m Arturo, and I’m truly honored you’re here. My journey from 24 years of service in the United States Marine Corps—including multiple deployments and combat tours—to becoming a therapist has shaped the heart of my work: resilience, compassion, and a deep respect for the strength it takes to seek support. After retiring from the military, I pursued my passion for human behavior and earned two master’s degrees from Pepperdine University—one in Teaching and Education, and another in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. For the past four years, I’ve served underrepresented communities as a therapist, helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and major life transitions. I’m deeply committed to creating a safe, confidential space where men can speak openly—man to man—about the challenges we often carry quietly, and where anyone can feel seen, understood, and supported. I also work with couples using Gottman‑informed methods to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and foster deeper emotional connection. My background includes extensive work with domestic violence, family conflict, and complex relational patterns, including facilitating groups focused on safety, healing, and empowerment. Whether you are seeking personal clarity, emotional relief, or stronger, healthier relationships, I’m here to walk alongside you with practical tools, compassion, and unwavering support as you build a life rooted in purpose, well‑being, and meaningful connection.

I’m a Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) who offers a warm, grounded space to slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and create meaningful change. My style is relational and attachment-informed—meaning we pay attention to patterns that show up in relationships (including ours), and how earlier experiences may shape the way you cope, connect, or protect yourself today. I’m also strengths-based and practical: we’ll build on what’s already working while using CBT tools to reduce overwhelm, challenge unhelpful thought loops, and practice skills that support steadier mood, boundaries, and healthier relationships. The impact my clients often experience is feeling more emotionally stable and confident in themselves, with a clearer understanding of their triggers and patterns. Over time, many people report improved self-compassion, stronger communication, more secure attachment in relationships, and an increased ability to tolerate difficult emotions without shutting down or spiraling. My goal is for you to leave therapy with both deeper insight and real-life tools so you can feel more connected, empowered, and able to live with authenticity and intention.

Hello! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy based in California. I have been a practicing clinician for 5 years and I've worked in the Mental Health field for a total of 11 years. My approach is eclectic; I work primarily from a modern Psychodynamic Therapy approach and implement Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies. I believe that by ‘making the unconscious, conscious’ and better understanding the “why” we can then take actionable steps to create positive change. I believe we all have the essential tools within ourselves needed to build a better and safer space, a place where we can flourish into the people we always thought we could be. At times, we may find ourselves feeling lost in the midst of our daily functions, perhaps even feeling hopeless or chaotic. As an empathic and non-judgmental listener, I am up for the task of helping you uncover those tools. Let’s get you there. You are your own greatest strength.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience across diverse settings, which has shaped my deep understanding of people, trauma, and the pathways to true healing and restoration. My work has allowed me to walk alongside individuals in some of their most vulnerable moments and support meaningful, lasting change. For several years, I served in a church setting as a lay counselor, where I integrated a Biblical perspective into counseling. Through this work, I have seen how faith-informed care can bring profound healing to the whole person—mind, body, and soul. I believe that when spiritual insight and clinical understanding come together, clients can experience deep inner renewal and freedom. I have also worked in a psychiatric hospital, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary treatment teams in high-acuity environments. This experience strengthened my clinical skills and gave me firsthand insight into what truly helps individuals stabilize, heal, and regain hope during times of crisis. In my practice, I primarily use Solution-Focused Therapy alongside other evidence-based modalities, thoughtfully tailored to each client’s unique needs. My goal is to help you identify strengths, move through trauma, and find practical tools for growth—while creating a safe, compassionate space for inner healing. I work with individuals seeking healing from trauma, emotional pain, and life challenges, and with those who desire faith-integrated care. Together, we will focus on restoration, clarity, and lasting change so you can move forward with purpose and wholeness.

Hello! I’m Brenda De Monge, a passionate Marriage and Family Therapist with over 21 years of experience in community mental health. Helping and supporting youth, parents, & individuals from various cultures & socio-economic backgrounds affected by trauma. When working with trauma, sexual, physical, emotional, and domestic violence, my number one priority is safety & meeting my clients where they are, by supporting them & reaching their goals. I use these treatment methods: • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In my practice, I have used CBT to help clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. CBT is effective in understanding how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. We can implement this in therapy to help you live a less anxious and stressful life. • Trauma-Focused CBT is a short-term therapy designed for children ages 3-18 who have experienced various types of traumas, including physical, emotional, & sexual abuse. When working with young children, the parents/caregivers are key, as they provide ongoing support. By attending sessions, parents will gain a deeper understanding of the root causes of the issues. Over the past 20 years, I have worked with families using this model, & it has been helpful to them. • Seeking Safety is a treatment approach I have used with clients for more than 15 years. It assists individuals dealing with trauma & addiction by emphasizing safety and coping skills. • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) has proven to be a helpful approach in easing obsessive thoughts, reducing intrusive memories, & empowering clients to stay calm while learning ways to handle future challenges and symptoms. Since 2019, I’ve supported children, teens, & adults in managing their post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, & panic disorder through EMDR. In addition, I’ve helped clients with war-related trauma & child sexual assault.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Domestic Violence?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Domestic Violence, is filtering therapists in California that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
