LCSW, 8 years of experience
I provide individual and family therapy with a trauma-informed, culturally attuned approach. My work weaves together evidence-based methods like EMDR, CBT, and psychodynamics theory with deep compassion and intuition. As someone who values both emotional healing and spiritual growth, I help clients untangle the effects of trauma, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with their inner resilience. At the heart of my work is a simple intention to help you heal, grow, and move forward with more clarity, strength, and hope.
In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you’re facing. This will help me create a plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
In working with you, I provide a safe, warm, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment. I believe that every human being has an inner wisdom, and I use evidence and strengths-based approaches to help us tap into your inherent ability to heal, thrive, and live with inner peace. As part of my approach, I seek to gently uncover the thoughts, feelings, and dynamics that may keep you stuck in some aspect of your life. I believe in the mind-body connection and honor a holistic approach to your healing journey.
I enjoy working with adolescences and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, grief, life transition, and trauma. I work best with client who are overwhelmed with intrusive thoughts, stuck in same habits that's not serving them well, and are ready for change.
I have been utilizing CBT in my practice for the past 4 years. CBT is used to recognized how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. CBT is the best method to change thinking patterns, which will help client's mood.
I have been using Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy for the past years. This form of psychotherapy helps identify self-defeating thoughts and feelings, challenge the nature of irrational and unproductive feelings, and replace them with healthier and more productive beliefs.
I have been using Attachment-based psychotherapy for 4 years. This approach to therapy targets thoughts, feelings, communications, behaviors, and interpersonal exchanges that clients have learned either to suppress and avoid or to amplify and overemphasize because of early attachment experiences.
I have used Mindfulness-Based Therapy for approximately 10 years and completed my graduated thesis on the effectiveness of mindfulness in stress reduction. This approach is utilized to get the client in relaxed yet aware state in order to bring back the client in the present moment. The goal is to experience day to day situations and stressors in nonjudgmental and non-reactionary ways.
EMDR is a therapy that helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they don't feel as overwhelming. Instead of reliving the past, clients are able to remember it without the same emotional weight. I have used EMDR with clients who have experienced relief and calmness in ways that talk therapy alone doesn't.
