About me

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with teens, adults, and families. I enjoy working together with my clients and listening to what they want to achieve. I support my clients by providing them with the skills they need to manage their daily struggles and ultimately reach their goals. My approach to therapy is person-centered as it allows clients to gain their own understanding of their experiences to help them with their personal growth. I use evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and mindfulness techniques to support my clients in the healing process. I like to individualize each of my client's needs, and there is a vast assortment of many other approaches and tools that I use. I'm honored to be trusted by my clients and to support them with their mental health. Knowing that I have a part in affecting the lives of others is very rewarding to me. I get great pleasure in educating and helping people reach their fullest potential to live their best life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is our initial connection and a great opportunity for us to get to know each other. I can answer any questions you may have. I'm interested in learning about you, what brings you to therapy, and what you want to accomplish. I would like to get a sense of what direction you would like to go in your therapeutic journey and what treatment would work best for you. Clients leave their sessions with a new perspective, insight, and tools they can use to manage their symptoms.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I create an environment of compassion, support, and understanding to help individuals learn and grow, which helps in forming a positive therapeutic relationship. I enjoy collaborating and providing support to empower my clients' participation in therapy in order to give them a voice. I communicate calmly and patiently to create a safe environment for my clients to share. I use active listening without judgment to build rapport and gain insight into my clients' struggles, strengths, reasons for coming to therapy, and goals they are looking to achieve. I want my clients to feel heard and understood, so they can open up and trust me when ready.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have extensive experience but most enjoy working with teens, adults, and families. I find that each stage of life has its own set of challenges, which makes my job interesting. I'm especially interested in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, family conflict, low self-esteem, life transitions, grief, and addiction.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My approach to therapy is person-centered as I provide a warm, non-judgmental, and safe environment. I’m empathetic, genuine, and provide unconditional positive regard to my clients during their therapy sessions. I enjoy getting to know my clients as individuals and feel it’s important to recognize their unique qualities. In my experience, this approach is effective in building strong therapeutic relationships and supporting my clients in achieving their greatest potential. I assist my clients by asking clarifying questions and reflecting to empower them to explore their own feelings to gain a clearer perception of themselves that will lead to personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been effective in managing my clients’ symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse problems, relationship problems, and self-esteem issues. I introduce the Cognitive Triangle during therapy sessions by showing the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. I help my clients identify negative thought patterns in order to recognize how their thoughts are affecting their feelings. Then I teach healthier ways of thinking by assisting my clients in reframing their thoughts in order to have a positive mindset.

Psychodynamic

I have found Psychodynamic Therapy to be effective with my clients as it helps them gain a better understanding of themselves and how their past has contributed to their present pain. I explore with my clients how their past childhood traumas and/or experiences are unconsciously affecting their current negative thought patterns, reactions to circumstances, and relationships. This brings to my clients self-awareness and insight in order for change to occur.
