About me

Hi! Do you feel overwhelmed with constant racing thoughts making you feel anxious, or unhelpful negative self-talk causing you to feel depressed and mentally fatigued? These patterns of thinking can negatively affect your job, relationships, and ability to cope with daily life. You don't have to navigate this alone. We can work together and reframe these unhelpful thoughts to a healthier mindset so you can regain your sense of calmness and balance. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with teens, adults, and families. I enjoy collaborating and listening to what you want to achieve. I support you by providing the skills needed to manage your daily struggles and ultimately reach your goals. My approach to therapy is person-centered, allowing you to gain your own understanding of your experiences to promote personal growth. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness techniques to support you in the healing process, and I tailor every session to your specific needs by utilizing a vast assortment of other therapeutic approaches. I get great pleasure in educating and helping you reach your maximum potential. It's an honor to be trusted with your story, and I bring that same care to every session we share. My goal is for you to leave each session with practical tools and a clearer sense of your own strengths. Whatever brings you to therapy, we'll move at your pace, with your goals guiding our work together.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is our initial connection and a great opportunity for us to get to know each other. I can answer any questions you may have. I'm interested in learning about you, what brings you to therapy, and what you want to accomplish. I would like to get a sense of what direction you would like to go in your therapeutic journey and what treatment would work best for you. My hope is for you to leave our first session with a new perspective, insight, and tools you can use to manage your symptoms.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I create an environment of compassion, support, and understanding to help you learn and grow, which helps in forming a positive therapeutic relationship. I enjoy collaborating and providing support to empower your participation in therapy in order to give you a voice. I communicate calmly and patiently to create a safe environment for you to share. I use active listening without judgment to build rapport and gain insight into your struggles, strengths, reasons for coming to therapy, and goals you're looking to achieve. I want you to feel heard and understood, so you can open up and trust me when ready.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have extensive experience but most enjoy working with teens, adults, and families. I find that each stage of life has its own set of challenges, which I can help you to navigate and gain relief. I'm especially interested in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, family conflict, low self-esteem, life transitions, grief, and addiction.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My approach to therapy is person-centered as I provide a non-judgmental, and safe environment. I’m empathetic, genuine, and provide unconditional positive regard when we work together in sessions. I enjoy getting to know you as an individual and I believe it's essential to recognize your unique qualities. This approach is effective in building a strong therapeutic relationship and supporting you in achieving your greatest potential. I assist you by asking clarifying questions and reflecting to empower you to explore your own feelings to gain a clearer perception and deeper awareness of yourself that will lead to personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been highly effective in managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, relationship challenges, and self-esteem issues. During our sessions, I introduce the Cognitive Triangle by showing the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. We work together in identifying negative thought patterns to recognize how your thoughts are affecting your feelings. Then I teach healthier ways of thinking by assisting you in reframing your thoughts in order to have a positive mindset.

Psychodynamic

I have also found Psychodynamic Therapy to be effective in helping you gain a better understanding of yourself and how your past has contributed to your present pain. We will explore how your childhood and/or past experiences are unconsciously affecting your current reactions to circumstances, negative viewpoints, and relationships. This brings self-awareness and insight in order for change to occur.
