I have a Master's in Clinical Social Work from New York University's Silver School of Social Work. California Board of Behavioral Sciences Licensed Clinical Social Worker #83501. I also have a certification from the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP) as a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I have been in private practice since 2019. Prior to becoming a full-time therapist I worked as an advocate for victims of domestic violence in several different capacities.
In our first session, I will ask you about what you are currently struggling with and how it is impacting your life. I will work with you to identify your goals for therapy, and you will have an opportunity to ask me any questions you have about my background as a therapist or my treatment approach.
I believe that my biggest strength lies in my ability to empathize and support clients. If you are struggling (with things like stress, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, parenting issues, low self-esteem, guilt, shame) and doing it alone is not going well, I may be able to help.
Adults needing support for depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, parenting issues, low self-esteem, and/or trauma-related symptoms.
Psychodynamic theory is based on the understanding that our earliest experiences and relationships shape how we behave and interact with others later in life. Learning about the dynamics within one's family of origin, childhood traumatic events, grief/loss, and personal values can be beneficial in examining one's current functioning and relationships. I can assist you with identifying any patterns or cycles of dysfunction that may be hindering you from living your best life.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a victim advocate for those who have experienced Intimate Partner Violence (domestic violence). In my practice I have assisted countless clients with processing traumatic events and their accompanying emotions. I believe that I see through a trauma "lens" and can recognize how the emotional and physical aspects of victimization impact mental health and relationships.
