Hello! I'm Chelsea, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with almost 10 years of experience helping individuals navigate the complexities of trauma. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from San Francisco State University, and I'm trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful therapeutic approach for trauma resolution. I provide virtual therapy to clients throughout California and I create a welcoming and collaborative space for you to safely explore your pain and to achieve healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session we will talk about what is bringing you to treatment and how I can help. We will work together to create a plan for how to address your concerns and I will answer any questions you have. You are always in control of your treatment and I will do everything I can to make you feel supported and understood.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I use a trauma informed approach and support my clients on their healing journeys. I am compassionate but also straight forward. I will support you in your journey while also challenging you to grow and heal.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I am an EMDRIA trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist with experience treating trauma in teens and adults. I use EMDR as part of a comprehensive approach to trauma treatment that allows my clients to integrate and process painful and traumatic experiences to find peace and healing. I create compassionate and responsive environment that respects where my clients are and lets them lead the way in their healing journey.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a trauma treatment that allows for my clients to make sense of what has happened to them. We focus on understanding emotions, use of healthy coping skills and creating a story that helps make sense of what happened and allows for healing. I am certified in TF-CBT and have used it to treat many types of trauma in teens.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a part of an electic and comprehensive approach to therapy. CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors with the understanding that our thoughts influence our feelings and actions. I will help you challenge your unhelpful beliefs and create options for healthier choices which will reduce your stress and lead to a healthier, happier life.
