Hi I'm Luis, a therapist who has been in the field for 15yrs. I've worked in various clinical setting in helping children, adults, and older adult clients develop healthy coping skills to manage emotional distress and to improve or return to their typical function. I'm looking forward to walking with you in finding your set of healthy coping skills and to reduce the impact of symptoms on your function.
During our first session we will take time to learn more about each other. I'll ask specific questions about your current symptoms, stressors and triggers in order to understand how to support you through this challenging time. As treatment progresses I will meet you where you are, with session focus moving between skill building and processing.
During my time as a therapist I've developed attunement skills to help me truly see my clients. I've found that this approach leads to clients feeling supported and understood. In addition, I consistently use empathy and validation while helping clients process difficult emotions and experiences. I take a very open and non-judgmental approach to all situations, cultures, experiences, thoughts and beliefs. Clients find that I'm a genuine provider who can be as human as them.

I have experience working with a variety of client who experience emotional distress due to life stressors. Currently I am only seeing adult and older adults.
