I have almost 10 years of experience in this field of work. Most of it has been with the geriatric population within various settings, as well as with individuals challenged with a severe mental illness in forensic environments. I am very familiar with the impact of trauma on the life cycle. Additionally, I work with young adults navigating school-work-life-family balance, setting priorities, making challenging life decisions and developing self esteem and confidence while learning to maneuver life's ongoing challenges.
Welcome! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience, and I’ve had the privilege of serving clients in California for nearly three decades. I've worked in a variety of settings from psychiatric hospitals and emergency rooms to outpatient clinics, jails, and community health centers. No matter where I’ve been, my passion has always been helping people heal, grow, and find hope.
I work with adults of all ages—whether you’re 18 or 98, And, I don't buy into that "old person" baloney. How would you be if you didn't know the day you were born? I enjoy working with individuals and couples, whether you come in alone or together, we can discuss what matters to the both of you's, I do use some of the Gottman's approach.
I specialize in trauma, including childhood abuse, military service, serious accidents, and other life-altering events. I also have extensive experience helping people navigate grief and loss, depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and (SMI) seriously mentally illI clients.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and interactive. I draw from a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and relaxation skills. I bring compassion, listening. and supportive therapy to all sessions.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked on crisis teams, partnered with law enforcement, and responded to emergencies in homes, hospitals, and even at Ground Zero in New York City after 9/11. These experiences have shaped my understanding of trauma and resilience, and I continue to use the skills I’ve learned to help clients through life’s most challenging moments.
If you’re ready to take the next step, Let’s work together to move forward—wherever you want your journey to go.
I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you have everything figured out. Clients often describe me as warm, genuine, and direct, and I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real conversation: one where you feel heard, understood, gently challenged, and equipped with practical tools you can use in everyday life.
Building a trusting, collaborative relationship is at the heart of my work. I strive to create a space where you feel safe bringing every part of yourself into therapy, knowing you'll be met with compassion, honesty, and respect. Together, we'll work toward helping you better understand yourself, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My practice is built on compassion, curiosity, and open, honest communication. We create a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and valued, making it possible to explore sensitive issues with love and understanding. With a background enriched by diverse professional and life experiences, we offer insights and interventions that resonate with a broad spectrum of clients, including ethnically and culturally diverse older adults, veterans, youth, and adult re-entry offenders, as well as those grappling with symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, adjustment, and everyday confusion about what's next.
Hi, I’m Dr. Cathy Evangelatos, I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and growth.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology.
I also hold a Master’s degree in Theology, enabling me to offer specialized Christian-integrated therapy for clients who desire to integrate their faith into their personal growth and healing.
I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, which provides significantly more rigorous training and expertise than a standard two-year Master’s-level therapist. Psychologists typically complete 5–7+ years of doctoral-level education beyond a bachelor’s degree, with extensive training in evidence-based psychological interventions, assessment, diagnosis, and advanced treatment approaches. In contrast, most Master’s-level therapists (such as MFTs or LCSWs) complete a two-year graduate program focused primarily on relational and family systems work. This advanced doctoral training allows me to deliver deeper, more nuanced, and highly effective care — empowering you to achieve meaningful, lasting change with greater insight, precision, and support than a standard Master’s-level therapist can typically provide.

I began practicing as a therapist and psychologist in 2012 after graduating from the Higher School of Psychology in Moscow, Russia. Since then, I have had the privilege of working with diverse clients across different clinical settings and cultural environments. After relocating to the United States, I chose to continue my professional path as a Marriage and Family Therapist, bringing with me approximately 12 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through emotional, relational, and life-transition challenges.
Before entering the mental health field, I spent more than 30 years working as a legal professional in consulting, corporate law, and finance. While these professions may seem quite different, both have deepened my understanding of people, relationships, decision-making, conflict, resilience, and the many ways life circumstances can shape our experiences. Working across different professional, family, organizational, and cultural systems has given me a broad perspective on the challenges people face and the strengths they draw upon to adapt, grow, and find meaning in their lives.
Altogether, my professional experience spans nearly four decades across different countries, cultures, populations, and work environments. This diverse background enriches my work as a therapist and allows me to bring a thoughtful, practical, and culturally sensitive perspective to the therapeutic process. I understand that every person's story is unique, and I strive to create a space where clients feel respected, understood, and supported as they navigate life's challenges and opportunities for growth.
Perhaps most importantly, I genuinely value the work I do. Being a mental health professional is more than a career for me—it is a source of purpose, meaning, and connection. I feel grateful for the opportunity to accompany people on their journey toward greater self-understanding, healing, and fulfillment, and I consider it a privilege to be entrusted with that process.
My name is Javi Gonzalez, and I am a Hispanic therapist originally from Mexico. My personal and professional background has shaped the way I connect with clients, especially men from the Latino/Hispanic community who are navigating addiction, depression, cultural identity, family expectations, relationship conflict, anxiety, and stress.
I understand that many Latino men are taught to stay strong, keep problems private, and carry emotional pain alone. In therapy, I work to create a space where clients can be honest without feeling judged. My style is direct, respectful, practical, and compassionate. I believe clients deserve both support and honest feedback as they work toward meaningful change and resolve your problems.
My own life experiences have given me a deep respect for resilience, survival, and the effort it takes to build a different future. I know that issues like poverty, cultural pressure, family responsibility, community violence, immigration experiences, and addiction can deeply affect how a person sees themselves and relates to others.
I help clients identify unhealthy patterns, develop better coping skills, improve communication, and build healthier relationships with themselves, their partners, and their families. I especially enjoy working with Spanish-speaking clients who want therapy that feels culturally familiar, honest, and focused on real-life progress.
My goal is to help clients feel understood, take responsibility for change, and move toward a more stable, healthy, and meaningful life.
Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m a therapist, and I work with people who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just needing a space to sort through what’s going on. My role is to support you without judgment and help you make sense of things in a way that feels useful and manageable. I am here to provide a safe, supportive space where we can work together on whatever brings you in.
While I am new to Grow Therapy, I have been practicing in various schools settings as a counselor for over a decade: supporting students and parents navigate, life, learning and loss of all types. Whether you or your child experience neurodivergence (such as ADHD, anxiety, autism, emotionality, sensory sensitivities, demand avoidance, etc.) or are struggling with social , work, relationship or routine daily demands, I am here to support you.
I also support women going through relationship struggles, whether it's from co-parenting, infidelity, perimenopause, caregiving burnout, etc. Over the years, I found myself working more and more with moms who are carrying it all, doing all that they can, and finding themselves barely hanging on. You may be feeling, overwhelm, confusion, guilt, shame, exhaustion and even anger. If so, I am here to help you navigate through these difficult feelings.
I tailor each session to meet the client's individual needs, personality, and strengths. Together, we'll build on your resilience, intuition, and inner resources while creating opportunities for growth, healing, and self-empowerment. My goal is to provide a safe, collaborative environment to make changes at your pace.
I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely safe, seen, understood, and supported while also being challenged to grow. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, substance use, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I draw from evidence-based approaches while tailoring therapy to the individual, because no two people, experiences, or paths toward healing are the same. I encourage clients to use what is helpful and leave the rest. It has been my honor to serve as a past-President of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP), Los Angeles Chapter, for two terms and Education Chair for the Women's Association of Addiction Treatment (WAAT). I am grateful to have witnessed profound healing as both the Clinical Director and CEO of prominent eating disorder, substance use disorders, and mental health programs over the past 20 years.

Please note: I currently have limited availability due to childcare. My available days rotate each week. For example, if I have availability on a Monday one week, I will be available on a Wednesday the following week. If you are experiencing symptoms that require you to be seen weekly, I may not be the best fit for you at this time. I will go over my availability details during your intake and if you decide it will not work for you, I will send referrals to you for other therapists on Grow.
It never ceases to amaze me just how often I have to try to convince others that they are worthy SIMPLY because they exist. This includes you! I want to know who communicated to you that you are not enough and why you value the opinion of said person(s); these types of harmful beliefs are learned, not innate. Let's unlearn them together.
Most of my early clinical work has been with children and adolescents with focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, trauma and various behavioral and emotional issues. I have worked in high-intensity and high-crisis environments from school to hospital settings.
I am passionate about working with and creating a safe space for folks who belong to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I understand that belonging to a marginalized/oppressed group can result in barriers to achieving and maintaining optimal mental health. I am a cis/het woman doing my best to provide care that is equitable and gender-affirming. I'm always learning and growing as an ally; you will always be safe here. I am also always looking at things through a trauma-informed lens.
I'm a busy working parent who understands how hard it can be to do it all. I am currently pursuing a certification in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders to be able to better support soon-to-be and new parents; this particular journey is no joke! I am certified in treating perinatal mental health disorders (PMH-C)

Hola! Bienvenida/o.
I have been practicing for over a decade in various settings, including private practice, foster care, adoption, and community agencies. I am certified in Applied Gerontology which helped me to understand better the biological, psychological, and sociological processes of older adult maturation and aging. My experience has given me the privilege to understand every individual at whatever stage in their life they are currently at.
I am trained in evidence-based methods but my approach is to look at the individual's strengths. I help them look for solutions rather than be stuck in problem mode. I believe therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach but personalized care that will fit your needs.

Hello, I am an older adult who came to this career after a long career in the non-profit sector. Over the years, I have worked with a wide variety of clients with a wide variety of issues and circumstances. The bulk of my previous experience in the nonprofit world was in substance use disorder treatment programs. My training as a therapist includes specialized training for a wide variety of disorders. I am known for being empathic, honest and insightful and a relentless cheerleader for my clients. I am very interactive and I will offer liberal doses of feedback and suggestions. Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. Prior to becoming licensed in 2017, I worked with children and youth in public and private schools as a Behavior Interventionist for over a decade. I also worked in a mental health non-profit providing counseling and other social services to culturally, spiritually, and linguistically diverse populations. My expertise includes working with victims of crimes and domestic violence, immigrants and refugees, and individuals from the South West Asian North African (SWANA) region.
I specialize in holding space for the deep-thinkers and cycle-breakers, the individuals who have spent a lifetime looking inward and dismantling generational patterns, yet still feel the friction of a world demanding 'more' at the expense of 'being.'
My approach combines a lifelong passion for psychology and therapeutic processes with a multicultural, spiritually grounded worldview. As a mother, a doctoral candidate, and a business owner, I don't just teach boundaries; I live them. I am a 'Keturah-sized' bridge in the wellness gap for those who have cycled through therapists searching for a peer who truly sees them. Together, we intentionally move past the '15 tasks by yesterday' mentality and into a strategic, soul-deep architecture of rest, healing, and expansion.

Fifteen+ years go, I began my journey as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Since my start in the field, I have worked within substance abuse residential facilities, Drug Court, intensive in-home behavioral services, military families, and private practice with children, adults, and couples. I have provided support across a variety of populations over the years addressing anxiety, depression, and neurodivergent and immigrant and refugee populations. These experiences have shaped my therapeutic lens and the understanding of how larger systems like health, education, and economic status attribute to mental health challenges.
The education and training I received aligned with my belief that mental health and wellness challenges are not developed solely through chemical and psychological disruptions, but are also an outcome of the systems and relationships that have shaped us and those we are currently in. From that perspective, my approach to therapy begins in exploring attachment. One's attachment style as developed in their childhood can trace relationship patterns as well as one's worldview identifying keys to distress. The way we seek comfort in distress impact not only our intimate relationships, but our work life and economic choices.
Oftentimes, therapeutic progress has neglected how intricately interwoven are the body, soul, and spirit. Intersecting all three in sessions, I endeavor to proactively support individuals in developing their wellness lifestyle in order to be best informed when future barriers and areas of stuck-ness in life occur. I believe in the power of unveiling one's authentic self and harnessing their inherent strengths to achieve personal and professional fulfillment.
Hi, I’m Shannon, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about creating a supportive, comfortable space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, develop practical tools, and create meaningful changes that feel sustainable in your everyday life.
Hello ,
I am a licensed social worker based in Ohio. And I also am licensed in California. I have been practicing for close to 40 years, so have a great deal of professional and life experience, that I can apply to my work with clients. I am motivated to help adults of any age, move forward with their lives. And also there to help clients develop healthy skills that they can utilize, to become their "best selves." My approach tends to be more SHORT TERM and Solution Focused. I also see myself as a life coach for many of my clients. I am a regular practitioner of yoga and meditation and enjoy bringing elements of these practices into my work as well. I also love animals and enjoy hiking and biking in nature.
*I do not work with clients who have HIGH RISK CONCERNS, such as recent suicidality, recent psychiatric hospitalization, domestic violence or substance abuse issues. Since I feel clients managing these issues, are better served seeing providers in a traditional office setting with more wrap around services. Clients who book with me presenting with these high risk concerns will have to be referred out by me to other providers or more appropriate resources in their community.
My journey to becoming a therapist started 29 years ago on a personal recovery journey, recovering from personal trauma and addiction in the entire system growing up including family, and coming from a low SES background, therapy became a way to reconcile the change I was going through in my life. Working with and helping others has always been a calling of mine, and becoming a psychologist was a natural extension of that ongoing work on both myself and in my work with others.
Beginning with a humanistic approach means meeting the client where they are at, and then conceptualizing the approach with a combination of humanistic and positive psychology, systems theory, and recovery-oriented systems of care.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 33 years of experience, specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy. My approach to therapy is rooted in understanding the context in which problems arise and the relationships between the individuals involved. I believe in a "wellness" approach to treatment, which focuses on helping clients tap into their existing strengths and resources. By encouraging self-reflection and growth, my goal is to support clients in creating lasting positive change and fostering healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Please note: I am not currently accepting new clients seeking couples counseling services.
Hello! I am a Marriage and Family Therapist serving clients all over California. I have been seeing clients for over 15 years. I help people improve their mental health and relationships with themselves and each other so that they can live their best lives. I am passionate about the work my clients do and fully believe in the ability of therapy. The life you want and the way you want to “be“ in it is possible!
You’re the caretaker or the high achiever—the one who always finds a way to make things work. On the outside, it may look like you’re doing everything “right,” but inside you feel anxious, disconnected, or simply exhausted. If you’re wondering how much longer you can keep it all together, you’re not alone. Finding a steady, supportive therapist can be the first step toward feeling like yourself again.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with women who are struggling with burnout, perfectionism, anxiety or depression. Many of my clients feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, people pleasing, or putting others first before themselves.
Together, we look at what’s working in your life and what may be keeping you feeling overwhelmed or drained. From there, we create realistic goals that help you build confidence, set healthy boundaries, and bring more peace back into your daily routine. Clients can expect through the process to create stronger boundaries, improve mood, and increase clarity with themselves and the way they see the world.
I am licensed in both CA & TX, and love to see clients remotely for virtual sessions. In addition to my clinical experience, I also have a background in world religious studies, have a passion for all things creative, and love seeing clients from various cultural backgrounds, college students, recent grads, working moms, and young professionals.
Whether you are starting therapy for the first time, returning, or looking for a better fit, all are welcome.

I'm Claudine and I'm looking forward to working with clients who are seeking a positive therapeutic relationship. I'm compassion focused while still pushing clients to do their best and meet their goals. Psycho education is big part of what I include in sessions to help clients understand how the process of therapy works and how my interventions can help you.
