New to Grow
Hi, I'm Taylere! Finding a therapist and embarking on a journey of healing is brave, I am glad you're here. Starting therapy can feel awkward. You might not know where to begin, feel unsure of what to say, or worry that you’re “doing it wrong.” (For the record, there’s no such thing.) My goal is to create a space that feels warm, safe, and human, where you can show up exactly as you are messy thoughts, big feelings, and all the things. I’ve loved exploring people’s stories and helping them make sense of their experiences ever since I started training in therapy. I’m passionate about understanding how early life experiences shape who we are today, while also offering practical tools to cope and grow. I strive to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and non-judgmental, where you can be curious about yourself, build insight, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes. Outside of work, I love to read fantasy books, take my dog for a walk, and go to concerts.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, non-judgmental space where we begin to build a trusting relationship. I encourage openness, but there's no pressure to discuss anything you're not ready to. I'll get to know you and understand what brought you to therapy, while explaining my approach to ensure we're aligned.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to blend depth and practicality. I help clients gain insight into how past experiences shape current patterns while also providing tools and strategies to cope and grow in the present. I am attuned, empathetic, and collaborative, creating a safe space where clients feel heard and supported. I also bring a sense of humor and lightness to our work, helping clients feel comfortable exploring even the difficult parts of their story. My goal is to help clients leave therapy feeling understood, empowered, and more confident in navigating life’s challenges.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who are curious about themselves and ready to explore both the “why” and the “how” of their experiences. My ideal clients may be navigating patterns from their past, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, or difficulty managing emotions. They’re interested in gaining insight into how early experiences shape the present while also learning practical tools to navigate life more effectively. I value a collaborative, compassionate space, and I also believe a little humor can go a long way, because sometimes laughter is exactly what we need to lighten the load while doing the hard work of growth.
Psychodynamic
My therapeutic approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which means I focus on understanding how past experiences, especially early relationships, continue to influence thoughts, emotions, and patterns in the present. I work collaboratively with clients to explore recurring themes, emotional responses, and coping strategies that may have developed earlier in life to provide protection or support. By gently increasing awareness of these patterns, clients can gain deeper insight into themselves, strengthen their emotional understanding, and create more intentional and fulfilling ways of relating to themselves and others. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients feel curious, empowered, and understood as they work toward meaningful change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we look at how unhelpful thinking patterns can impact mood, stress, and daily functioning. CBT is practical and collaborative, offering tools and strategies to help clients manage challenges in the present while building skills they can use outside of sessions. By learning to notice, challenge, and reframe thoughts, clients can feel more empowered, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful changes in their day-to-day lives.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My work is also grounded in a person-centered approach, which means I believe that each client is the expert on their own life. Therapy is a collaborative space where you are met with empathy, respect, and unconditional support. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, accepted, and free to explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace. Through this supportive relationship, clients are able to build self-trust, increase self-understanding, and move toward growth and healing in a way that feels authentic to them.
