New to Grow
Hello! My name is Dioscelina Gonzalez, and I am a first-generation Latinx therapist. I am passionate about supporting the Latino community and other marginalized populations. As a proud Hispanic Mexican American licensed clinical social worker, I bring a culturally responsive and trauma-informed approach to my work. I am fluent in both Spanish and English, which allows me to provide therapy that honors language, culture, and identity.
In our first session, there will be an introduction and a warm atmosphere aimed at building rapport. We will discuss your goals for therapy, current challenges, and any relevant history. I will provide insight into what you can expect in future sessions. Additionally, I will cover confidentiality and the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship. This session is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have, setting the stage for a meaningful therapeutic journey.
My approach to therapy is rooted in client-centered principles, emphasizing empathy, respect, and collaboration. I tailor treatment to your specific needs, incorporating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and family systems therapy.
I enjoy working with adults to help them gain back or develop their confidence and overcome generational trauma. I have experience helping clients identify their strengths and how to use them in their everyday lives.
I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that contribute to their emotional distress. In my practice, I use CBT techniques to help clients increase self-awareness and develop healthier coping skills.
