About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience, specializing in depression, anxiety, grief, spiritual counseling, chronic and end-stage health issues, and culturally competent care for people of color. My practice is trauma-informed, compassionate, and holistic, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with faith-based and integrative approaches to support healing on every level. I believe that even when trauma leaves an imprint, growth and resilience are always possible. Together, we will work to restore balance, strengthen your coping tools, and help you reconnect with the faith, peace, and freedom you deserve - HOPE ABOUNDS.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to gain. I’ll explain how therapy works, answer your questions, and begin creating a plan together. Most clients leave feeling a sense of relief and peace, knowing they have a safe place, knowing they are not alone. You have someone on your team!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes me unique as a therapist is not only my 20+ years of experience, but the spirit with which I approach this work. I bring a deep sense of compassion, humility, and faith-driven hope to every session. My clients often say they feel truly seen, understood, and supported in ways they haven’t experienced before. I provide holistic care and clinical excellence—using evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trauma-informed care, while also honoring the importance of faith and connection in the healing process. This combination allows me to meet clients where they are, addressing not only symptoms but the whole person. What truly sets me apart is my ability to hold hope when clients feel hopeless. I help people rediscover their resilience, rebuild trust in themselves and others, and find freedom from the pain of depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and broken relationships. My empathy and unwavering belief in healing is what makes my work, my profession, and even more my calling.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals who feel weighed down by depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, broken relationships, or spiritual struggles, and who long to feel whole again. Many of my clients are caring for others while quietly neglecting themselves, navigating chronic or end-stage health challenges, or carrying the invisible weight of past trauma. Others are struggling with the heartbreak of strained marriages, family conflict, or friendships that no longer feel safe or supportive. If you are feeling stuck, exhausted, or hopeless, but still carry a desire—however small—to rediscover your strength, rebuild trust, and create healthier connections, then we will likely work well together. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and collaborative, walking alongside you as you move toward greater peace, clarity, and freedom. What we may have in common is a belief that while life’s hardships and relationship wounds may leave scars, they do not have to define your future. Healing, growth, and resilience are always possible—and I want to help you find your path.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My hope is to assist clients in identifying the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By learning to recognize and shift unhelpful patterns, clients gain practical tools to manage challenges more effectively and create meaningful change. My approach is holistic, addressing the whole person—emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual if desired—so that healing occurs on multiple levels. Above all, I strive to create a therapeutic space that fosters growth and overall well-being.

Christian Counseling

I integrate Christian counseling by combining biblical principles with evidence-based therapy. My experience has shown that clients often find strength, comfort, and renewed hope when their faith is included in the healing process. I use this approach to help clients explore challenges through a spiritual lens, while also developing practical coping skills for daily life. This allows healing to address the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—in alignment with each client’s values and beliefs.

Grief Therapy

I provide a compassionate and supportive space for clients to process the deep pain of loss. I use therapeutic tools to help clients express emotions, honor their loved ones, and navigate the changes grief brings into their lives. My approach is both structured and gentle, focusing on developing healthy coping strategies while walking alongside clients as they move toward healing. I emphasize resilience, meaning-making, and holistic support so clients can carry both their grief and their hope forward.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In my practice, I use mindfulness-based therapy to help clients build awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment. My experience shows that practicing mindfulness reduces stress, improves emotional regulation, and creates space for healthier responses to life’s challenges. I guide clients in simple, practical exercises—such as grounding, breathwork, and mindful reflection—that support healing in a holistic and hope-centered way.

Trauma Informed Care

I use a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment. I recognize how past experiences may shape present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and I work with clients at a pace that respects their readiness for healing. My focus is on building resilience, fostering self-compassion, and providing tools that restore a sense of control and hope, while addressing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
