New to Grow
Hi, I’m Maureshia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over eight years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I work with young professionals and diverse populations, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, navigating anxiety, depression, career transitions, work-life balance, and identity exploration. My approach is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented, focused on creating a safe space where you can gain insight, build practical skills, and move forward with confidence and clarity.
In your first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where we begin getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and any goals you may have, while also giving you the opportunity to share at your own pace. We’ll talk about your background, explore what you’d like to work on, and begin identifying what support might look like for you. I’ll also explain how I work and answer any questions you have. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, comfortable, and hopeful about the process ahead.
My greatest strengths as a therapist are my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space, build genuine connections, and meet clients where they are. I bring a warm, empathetic, and culturally responsive approach that helps clients feel seen, heard, and understood from the very beginning. What stands out about my approach is that I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. I integrate evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy to tailor treatment to your unique needs and goals. I focus on helping you gain insight while also building practical, real-life skills you can use outside of sessions. What makes me unique is my ability to balance compassion with accountability—I will support you while also gently challenging you to grow. My goal is not just symptom relief, but helping you create lasting, meaningful change so you can feel more confident, empowered, and aligned in your everyday life.
In my private practice, I work with individuals, including young professionals and diverse populations, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, career transitions, work-life balance, and questions related to identity and self-discovery. I strive to create a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences, gain clarity, and build the tools needed to move forward with confidence and purpose.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I have over eight years of experience providing therapy and using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT helps you learn how to respond to difficult thoughts and emotions in healthier ways rather than trying to eliminate them. Together, we focus on building awareness, accepting what’s outside of your control, and taking meaningful actions aligned with your values so you can live a more fulfilling life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have over eight years of experience providing therapy and using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice, which focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping. My goal is to help you build practical skills you can use in everyday life to improve your mood, manage stress, and feel more in control.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I have 8 years experience using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in my practice, which helps you better understand your emotions and how they shape your relationships. Together, we explore patterns in how you connect with others, strengthen emotional awareness, and build more secure, meaningful connections with yourself and those around you.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I have 8 years of experience using Solution Focused brief Treatment. I use Solution-Focused Therapy in my practice, which centers on your strengths and what’s already working in your life. Together, we focus on identifying your goals, building on your existing resources, and creating practical steps toward meaningful change—so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.
