Adjusting to life changes can be challenging. My work is grounded in partnering with clients to promote self-compassion, resilience, and inner peace. I have an integrative approach to promote change and improved outcomes. Wellness in one area can strengthen overall well being. With this in mind consideration of factors that bring about positive changes are explored and implemented to promote goal attainment.
During our first meeting we will explore perceptions about counseling/therapy and the work we will do together, current life experiences, responses and desired outcomes. Exploration of factors contributing to current responses will be considered. By the end of the first session a preliminary plan will be established with interventions to bring about the shifts required to reach identified goals.
I am trained in a number of modalities to address the impact of trauma including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), expressive art, mindfulness, and mandala art therapy. These approaches help clients to regulate emotions, address past trauma, and reduce the impact of past experiences on current functioning. Clients who work with me also benefit from improved relationships and coping with my use of Emotional Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic processing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I have experience serving school aged youth, adults, members of LGBTQIA+ community, people with disabilities, highly sensitive people and empaths. The overall focus of the work I do is to promote well being.
