I am Dr. George Stallings. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 18 years of experience, proudly serving clients in Maryland and Virginia. I hold a Master’s degree from Towson University, PhD Capella University, and specialize in supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, build resilience, and move toward becoming their most authentic and empowered selves.
Hello there, and thank you for reaching out—that’s a meaningful first step. I’m Carrie Freshour, LCSW-C, a licensed clinical social worker with more than two decades of experience supporting individuals through complex life challenges.
My practice is intentionally small, serving only a handful of clients at a time, so I can offer highly personalized, trauma-informed care. To ensure I can meet your needs with my current availability, a brief phone consultation is required. If we’re not the right fit, I’m happy to provide thoughtful guidance and warm referrals.
I primarily support adults and young adults navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, identity transitions, and the lingering impact of trauma—especially systemic and institutional trauma that often goes unnamed but deeply shapes how we show up in work, family, and community.
My approach blends clinical expertise with real-world experience. I help clients:
rebuild confidence and self-trust
interrupt patterns of self-sabotage
navigate conflict and communication challenges
heal from environments that felt unsafe, invalidating, or toxic
understand their nervous system responses and regain a sense of control
I’m direct, compassionate, and unafraid of hard conversations when they lead to clarity and growth. I believe people are far more resilient than they realize, and sometimes they simply need a safe space—and the right tools—to rise again.
If you’d like to explore working together, please message me with your phone number and three options for a 15-minute consultation call within the next one to two weeks.
Taking this step takes courage. I’m honored to walk beside you as you move toward the life you want.
Stronger together,
Carrie
PLEASE NOTE: 15-minute CONSULTATION CALL REQUIRED BEFORE SCHEDULING AN INTAKE. INTAKE WILL BE CANCELED before a call.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my listing. If you've come this far, you're on the brink of an important decision--and what a difference the right choice can make. As a Social Worker, I've made a difference in people's lives for nearly 15 years -- helping children, adolescents, adults, and families to overcome life/situational problems and gain emotional freedom. I am a compassionate, empathetic, and intuitive licensed clinical professional counselor. I earned an MA in Professional Counseling with a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Specialty at Liberty University. I have completed specialized training in TF-CBT, Certified-DBT (C-DBT), Certified Youth Mental Health Specialist (CYMHS), and EDMR. I have nine years of experience in group and individual therapy sessions. I enjoy working with my clients from a holistic perspective to assist them in healing their whole selves.
I am a psychotherapist who works with a diverse population of people. My goal is to collaborate with individuals to assist them in achieving their therapy goal(S). My treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy approaches. Although I used these modalities, I do not use a one size fits all approach. I am a think-out-of-the-box clinician that will often challenge clients to try approaches that may be out of their comfort zone. Some examples of my experience include working with individual clients on developing skills in coping with mental health conditions/diagnosis, life stress, finding balance, and improving self-esteem. Although I use these approaches, my clients tell me it feels like we are having a conversation as opposed to feeling like they are in a therapy session. I have a specialization in working with Veterans, LGBTQI, men, and people of color populations. However, I work with all people who are seeking mental health services. I am licensed in DC (LICSW), VA (LCSW), MD (LCSW-C), and PA (LCSW). I have BS in Human Ecology, BA in Humanities from The Ohio State University, MSW from San Jose State University and Post Masters fellowship in mental health from Stanford University.
I use the newest advances in neuroscience to heal emotional pain, anxiety, trauma, depression and PTSD. These issues cannot be solved with TALK THERAPY as recent research has found that the emotional pain of past events is stuck and resides within your body and nervous system. Adrenaline is flowing through your system which is keeping you anxious. Research shows that we have to remove the trauma from your body-mind, reduce the adrenaline/cortisol, and only then activate your conscious medial cortex to "reframe and rethink" the issues. First we heal the body, then we will heal the mind.
I work with people of all faiths. I believe in a spirituality that transcends religion. With my guidance, you can transform negative energy into positive growth. You are unique, and your struggles have never been experienced by anyone else in the world. That's why I am committed to helping you on your journey towards finding meaning, purpose, and self-actualization. I will guide you towards a happier, more fulfilling life. If you are ready to take the first step towards a better tomorrow, please reach out to me to schedule an appointment.
I have developed a transformative program called Consciousness that helps individuals overcome feelings of sadness, anger, and loss. My approach acknowledges that crises can be opportunities to tap into hidden strengths and abilities, rather than mere setbacks that can break us. I will help you embrace a more positive, hopeful and energetic approach to life. You can learn more about Consciousness in my book Stay Woke and Ignite Your Soul.
The challenge you are currently facing is your special project or mission. You can do this. I will help guide you on your continuing journey toward self-discovery. Take the first step toward growth and a better life.
