Hello, my name is Michelle. I believe therapy is a time to examine internalized experiences that shape our perspectives and behaviors. Engaging in introspective work together can challenge us to reframe maladaptive thoughts. I aim to assist clients with managing emotional dysregulation and symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and trauma in a safe, nonjudgmental space. I hope to foster growth and strengthen coping skills during difficult transitional points in a person’s life. I am interested in exploring my clients' family of origin and attachment styles. I have a special sensitivity to sociocultural factors and intergenerational trauma. I embrace the complexities that make up the lived experiences of my clients and affirm their unique identities.
The initial intake is a time to better understand your presenting concerns and overview of your background history.
Life presents us with the full spectrum of positive and negative experiences. Learning skills to process and cope with difficult moments allows us to grow and thrive. I hope to assist you with maximizing your internal processes and gaining meaningful insights.
I welcome all individuals looking to deepen their relationship with themselves and others. I serve clients in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and take a collaborative approach to therapy while embracing humor throughout the process. Because of the limitations of virtual therapy sessions, individuals with high acuity symptoms may not be suited for my practice. Please note that I am not accepting couples/conjoint therapy clients through insurance at this time. Couples/conjoint sessions will be billed the cash pay rate of $250. Please reach out 48 hours prior to session to request for additional couples therapy consents.
Psychodynamic
Therapy offers an unbiased environment to think critically and objectively about how one's experiences shape their thoughts and behaviors. I believe therapy is a layered process that builds on itself. Together we will seek to identify maladaptive patterns and challenge deeply ingrained ideas and behaviors that cause distress.

Conveying yourself to a stranger, doesn't feel so deranged. Human beings lack empathy over the last century or two. It's become a wholesome experience having Michelle as a therapist. Unbiased opinions help navigate the atrocities of this world. Thank you for being a superhero to those who are lost

I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was the worst therapy experience. Michelle seems like she’s new so I’ll give her some leeway, but I got nothing out of my session. It didn’t feel like she cared about what I said, didn’t express sympathy, and it genuinely felt like she didn’t know what she was doing. It was a super awkward meeting and felt like I was in middle school.
