As a licensed clinical mental health counselor with 10+ years of experience, I have worked with a range of clients and mental health challenges. My expertise centers around helping people heal from past hurt, calm down anxious thoughts, and find their voice to create healthier relationships. My approach is collaborative, strength based, and holistic. I believe everyone has everything they need within them to live their best life. My role is to support and encourage you on your journey to uncover your inner strengths to live a life in peace and wholeness. Together we will explore multiple aspects of your life and set goals in each area. I will teach you new skills and support you as you become stronger and more resilient in overcoming your stressors.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will explore the present concerns, your strengths, and what goals you hope to accomplish in therapy. As the therapeutic relationship is a major component that supports a client's growth and progress in treatment, our first session is also time for us to connect and assess if I am a good fit for you and your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I value myself in being truly client focused. While I recognize that you are reaching out for support and help, you are still the expert on you. I respect and support your authenticity and independence which looks like a collaborative approach to make sure that we are always focusing on what YOU value. Many clients have shared with me that they value our focus on goal setting that occurs in the beginning of and throughout treatment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our emotions and behaviors are often times fueled by our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world around us. I strongly believe that when we find more peaceful or confident ways of thinking, we can free ourselves from worries, pain, doubt, etc.As a trained therapist, I often use CBT to help my clients understand the mind, body, and spirit connection in order to gain more control over these inner parts so they can lean into healthier perspectives on life and their experiences.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Anxiety, hurt, and doubt often live in the past or the future of what we think is to come. We often then judge ourselves or others in the process. Mindfulness strategies are powerful in helping people gain strength and peace as they navigate their day to day experiences. I love using a mindful approach to therapy to help my clients learn to live in the present, find confidence in what they can control, and learn to accept all parts of themselves.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma and/or PTSD affect so many aspects of a person's life. It can be very confusing and overwhelming often times because people living with trauma don't realize how deeply they are affected. I have been participated in various trainings to learn how to safely identify, explore, and process trauma. I am also certified to provide Trauma Focused CBT to children and adolescents. For adults I use various traditional and non traditional techniques to address trauma from CBT to art to yoga.
