LPC, 25 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello and welcome! I’m a licensed clinical professional counselor with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. Much of my career has been spent in healthcare in crisis response, giving me deep understanding of the unique, emotional toll faced by healthcare professional professionals, first responders, and others working in high stress environments, I specialize in supporting individuals who are coping with trauma and PTSD, and I also work with women navigating infertility, prenatal and postpartum challenges. These experiences can be incredibly isolating, and my goal is to offer a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where healing and connection can begin. My therapeutic approach is grounded in trauma informed care as well as evidence -based practices. I am certified in EMDR (Eye movement desensitization, and reprocessing). IFS, (Internal family systems), and CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy, I understand the impact of chronic stress, grief, and unresolved trauma on both mental and physical health. Whether you’re coping with burnout, navigating complex personal emotions or working through traumatic experiences, my goal is to provide a safe and collaborative space for healing and growth. I offer in person as well as telehealth appointments to accommodate your schedule and comfort level.
During the first therapy session, we will discuss the therapeutic process, I will attempt to answer any questions that you have and we will discuss goals that you have in therapy. This session will start the process of us getting to know each other and developing a plan as to how we are going to work together.
I combined the use of trauma therapy and parts work. This allows for the client to begin to address past traumatic events, as well as any attachment wounds they may have experienced. These approaches are more experiential than process oriented. This means that there’s more focus on the clients internal experience as opposed to the dialogue between client and therapist, which is a more common format of traditional psychotherapy.
My ideal therapy client is someone who is committed to their growth and motivated to make meaningful changes in their life. They approach the therapeutic process with an open mind and a willingness to explore both their strengths and their challenges. They are hard-working, ready to put in the effort, both inside and outside of the session, and take responsibility for their personal development. Therapy is not a quick fix. It is important to stay engaged in the process and remain curious reflective and receptive to the feedback and new perspective.
I am level three a train an internal family system through the internal family systems Institute. I also have basic training and somatic internal family systems.
I’ve been using EMDR to help individuals, treat trauma, negative beliefs, and intense emotions. I am certified in EMDR.
