Hello- I'm Jenna Borrelli and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California and Maryland. My background is in working with individuals and families. I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship and family issues, parenting challenges, life transitions, and personal growth/exploratory work. I am competent and enjoy working with the LGBTQ+ community as well. Making the decision to start therapy is your first and usually biggest hurdle toward feeling better or making a change in your life. I tailor my approach to best fit each person's needs but draw from the following theoretical orientations/modalities: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness practices, solution-focused therapy, and positive psychology. Whether you're dealing with being overwhelmed, relationship issues, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. My ultimate hope for all my clients is that they develop deeper self-knowledge, compassion, and develop skills so that they are able to lead more fulfilling and authentic lives. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome or better manage the challenges in your life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with a brief introduction and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me to create a tailored plan for us to work through follow-up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strength is being able to build rapport with my clients. I have not had a client yet that I could not relate to on some level. I am truly interested in learning about you and the situation that lead you to choose therapy. Building a strong relationship with my clients is crucial to me because a strong trusting relationship between client and therapist leads to better treatment outcomes for individuals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My preferred client is between 20-40 years old, is open to feedback, and ready to start making positive change in their life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT operates on the principle that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By identifying and altering negative thought patterns, you can influence your emotions and actions positively.

Compassion Focused

CFT aims to help individuals who struggle with issues related to self-criticism, shame, low self-esteem, and difficulties in managing their emotions by cultivating self-compassion and understanding the underlying emotional regulation systems.

Strength-Based

Strength-Based Therapy (SBT) is a collaborative, empowering approach that emphasizes your inherent strengths, resources, and resilience to foster personal growth and well-being. Rather than focusing solely on problems or deficits, SBT helps you recognize and build upon your existing capabilities to navigate challenges and achieve your goals.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, goal-oriented counseling approach designed to enhance an individual's motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence.
