I am a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized education and training in trauma-informed care. I believe most human suffering stems from the stress and trauma of existing within oppressive societal systems that seek to disconnect us from ourselves and others. I am deeply committed to examining, dismantling, and providing space to heal from these destructive systems. The therapeutic relationship should offer a safe environment to process chronic stress and trauma, explore the survival strategies you have developed, and build new skills that serve your present life. I am particularly interested in the mind-body connection—specifically regarding chronic stress and the nervous system—and I continually integrate somatic practices into my work with clients. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I understand how crucial it can be to find a therapist who understands the unique experience of navigating a heteronormative world. I have experience working in gender-affirming and HIV+ healthcare settings with trans, non-binary, gay, lesbian, and queer clients. I am dedicated to providing intersectional care across race, class, gender, religion, ethnicity, age, disability status, and all other identities. This means I will always consider how your various identities interact and influence how you move through and are treated in this world. If you are interested in a free 15-minute phone consultation, please schedule your first session with at least a week's notice so that we have time to connect. I will reach out prior to the scheduled appointment. I offer sliding scale (for private-pay clients) and weekend time slots on an as-needed basis, which we can discuss during the phone consultation.

I've always believed that most people aren't broken, they're stuck. And stuck is something we can work with. For 15 years I have worked with a wide range of people: veterans carrying wounds that never got proper attention, couples trying to find their way to a healthier relationship, individuals wrestling with OCD or trauma or habits they can't seem to shake, and families navigating transitions that turned their world upside down. I tend to be direct yet compassionate in the way approach therapy and to what my clients are dealing with. The best complement for me is when a client tells me how they felt seen and heard unlike they have had previously. I have a particular place in my heart for those living between worlds - racial minorities, expats, and members of immigrant communities who are navigating the push and pull of various socio-cultural forces. I understand that experience from the inside, not just from a textbook. If you are someone who is ready to engage honestly and wants a clinician who will meet you with both expertise and genuine care, please reach out.

I'm Trish — a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorders, and the kind of stuck-ness that can feel impossible to explain to someone who hasn't lived it. My background is deep in complex, high-stakes mental health work, and I bring that clinical grounding into a private practice setting that feels nothing like a clinical office. I work with adults who are genuinely ready to understand themselves better and make real changes — not just vent. If you're looking for someone who will listen carefully and also tell you the truth, you're in the right place. I also accept several major insurance plans, so therapy doesn't have to mean a full out-of-pocket commitment.

When I was in grad school I was asked this question: why do you want to do therapy? My answer was immediate: "I want to alleviate suffering!" A more experienced clinician shared a perplexing truth with me: sometimes you can't, you can just sit with the person through it. Over the years I have been honored to hold space for my clients to share their stories of courage and pain. I started to see what she meant, and revised my motto: I want to alleviate suffering and when I can’t I want to create a soft place to land. So, "Why therapy?” For all those who have forgotten their strength and just need a soft place to land. Using a blended approach of top therapy models, I partner with Clients to create lasting change and find freedom in ways that feel authentic to each person. Together we will learn new concepts, practice practical skills, and transform self-limiting patterns. Life can be hard. I want to help. Let’s talk!

Are you having a hard time and in need of someone to listen and help you figure things out? Then now is the time to begin therapy. Hello, I’m Michael Zwizanski, a licensed therapist in Philadelphia, working with individual clients throughout Pennsylvania. I hold a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University and I’ve been honored to support clients through a wide range of personal challenges and life transitions. I offer a safe, affirming space for clients to explore challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, family conflict, identity issues, and life transitions. My practice is anti-racist, sex-positive, LGBTQ+ competent, and gender-affirming. I specialize in helping clients navigate major life transitions—such as becoming a parent, getting married or divorced, changing careers, or coping with health challenges and grief. No matter the transition, I’m here to support you in finding clarity, healing and a path forward. Life is hard. Sometimes it feels like problems come one after another. It is overwhelming. You don't have to get through it alone. Therapy is a great place to talk about life's problems where you can say anything and not be judged. No matter what you’re facing, talking with someone can help. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free space where you feel like you’re grabbing coffee with a friend…a friend who happens to be a licensed counselor with more than 11 years of experience. In my time working as a counselor, I have helped patients manage and overcome obstacles like anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. From challenges with the overwhelming pressure of academic life, work life, career choices, relationship challenges, and more, I will be there to offer an objective perspective on your situation and provide healthy tips and resources to navigate it. My approach empowers personal growth while always ensuring you feel safe, seen, and heard. Depending on your needs, I utilize CBT, DBT, and Reality Therapy approaches in sessions. Currently, all sessions will be conducted virtually, allowing you to participate from the comfort of your own home and on a more flexible schedule. Let's do this together.

I work with women navigating life transitions, including changes in relationships, family roles, and health. These experiences can bring anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and the effects of trauma into focus, and can influence how thoughts, emotions, and the body interact. As a yoga teacher and yoga therapist for over 25 years, mindfulness is a natural part of my work and informs how I understand and approach the mind body connection. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS) with over five years of experience supporting people through cancer, serious illness, grief, and loss. As a two-time breast cancer survivor myself, I bring both professional training and personal understanding to this work, not because I have all the answers, but because I know that no two experiences are the same. If you're facing a cancer diagnosis, navigating life after treatment, living with chronic illness or chronic pain, grieving a loss, or caring for someone seriously ill, you don't have to carry that alone. I work with family caregivers as well as the nurses and healthcare professionals who carry this work every day. My approach is warm, grounded, and deeply human, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I meet you exactly where you are, without judgment. Grief doesn't follow a timeline, and neither does healing. Whether your loss is recent or resurfacing years later, whether you're newly diagnosed, deep in treatment, in survivorship, or supporting someone you love through it all, you deserve a space that is entirely yours. A place to say the things you can't say anywhere else. I see clients via telehealth across Pennsylvania.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I use dogs in my office while doing therapy. Please schedule telehealth or advise in advance if you are not comfortable in an office with animals. They do provide therapeutic support to clients and have been part of my practice for some time. I hold licenses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and specialty certification as a Certified Advanced Drug & Alcohol Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am a firm believer in everything that happens creates the person. I am a whole life counselor and work with people to explore what it would take to move past the difficult times in life. I take the time to get to know my clients and have many clients who have been with me for years. That doesn't mean someone will see me every week for the rest of their life. It means client know I am available when they have need. I do have clients who have seen me weekly for years not because they are dependent on me but because they have found benefit in processing their life regularly. I have had a successful personal practice for years and can offer clients the space and reverence to unpack the most unpleasant things to reorder them in a way they no longer can cause harm as they once did. There is no perfect childhood and it is likely families do the best they can and it may not have filled the needs of their child. I am happy to take as much time as needed to work through the problem as you understand it.

I really enjoy helping people navigate the challenges of changing and maintaining roles in life---exploring young adulthood, how to maintain your own identity as a parent, how to create a life worth living in whatever stage you are in. I feel like I am very open, non judgmental, eager to learn, empathetic and understanding. And funny! I am a gender affirming therapist. I am an ally in the LGB and TNC Communities, always keeping my eyes and ears open to find ways to improve my allyship. The current political climate is traumatic and oppressive to members of these Communities. I want to create space in session to discuss how that may be affecting you or retraumatizing you. I am also a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. I am comfortable providing documentation for medical transition. I am very comfortable with working with those who use self harm as a coping mechanism--there is no shame or expectation you must stop when you engage in therapy. I'm fine with talking about suicide, whether it's your own personal experience of trying to find a life worth living, your experience of supporting someone who lives with suicide in their life, or grief around experiences of suicide. I do not believe inpatient hospitalization is an effective treatment for those experiencing suicide and do everything I can as a therapist to keep people out of the hospital when in suicidal crisis. I do believe therapy is political. I am social justice focused, continuing to do my own anti-racism work. I believe in Health at Every Size. I believe that our environment and what we experience in life has a profound affect on us and must be discussed in therapy.

"Welcome. I'm Jeanette DeSilva, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), with 16 years dedicated to walking alongside individuals on their journey to lasting freedom from issues such as anxiety and depression, destructive behaviors and addiction or those who are just wanting help developing a deeper spiritual life and rebuild their relationship with God. In our work together, I integrate the evidence-based principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The core idea of CBT is that our thoughts significantly influence our feelings and behaviors. Together we'll work collaboratively to identify and re-frame unhelpful thought patterns, belief systems and behaviors that contribute to mental health struggles, poor self-image, relationship issues, grief and loss and destructive behaviors like unhealthy coping. My goal is to equip you with practical and therapeutic skills and strategies to navigate the challenges of mental health disturbances, addiction issues or just difficult life struggles you may currently be facing. If spirituality is an important aspect of your life and you are wanting it a part of your therapeutic process, as a Christian Counselor I am skilled in utilizing biblical principles such as scripture, prayer and meditation into proven therapeutic approaches to help in building a strong arsenal to overcome and resolve life's challenges and walk in complete healing and freedom. Science and faith can truly work together. We will focus on: Addressing mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and interpersonal/relational conflict resolution. I am also extensively experienced in substance abuse and addictions. Identifying and Resolving Destructive Behaviors: Addressing any unwanted behaviors such as substance abuse, self-medicating behaviors or just cycles and patterns of critical inner dialogue and destructive core beliefs blocking your growth. You are not alone in this struggle. I offer a non-judgmental, empathetic space where we can work together to help you achieve lasting emotional/mental change.

I have been working in the mental health field for 10 years now. I started off as a wraparound working with children who have emotional, behavioral, and social problems in the home, school, and community. I worked in an autism support classroom in an elementary school for a few years. I have worked primarily in residential settings since then, graduating with my masters in Clinical Mental health Counseling in 2020. I recently attained my state license and was able to start my outpatient practice. I have experience working with people of varying ages and concerns. I am most familiar with personality disorders, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders and have built a plethora of skills, knowledge, and resources to help target these concerns. I have always been friends with the people who need one and my goal throughout life has always been to help improve the quality of life for those around me. My aim is to help you to feel better about yourself and your life, finding where you have control in life and circumstances, and how you can use that to feel more in confident and satisfied in your life.

Hi, I'm Assal. I've been a therapist for 13 years, helping young adults and adults navigate life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, relationship concerns, and the stress that comes with balancing life's many demands. Many of my clients come to therapy during periods of change or uncertainty. They may be starting college, launching a career, navigating dating and relationships, working through unhealthy relationship patterns, adjusting to parenthood, caring for family members, or questioning what they want from the next chapter of life. Others feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves and are looking to regain a sense of confidence, direction, and purpose. My goal is to provide a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about what's really going on. Together, we'll explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, while building on your strengths and helping you move toward the life you want.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
