I’m a husband and dad to three boys (ages 16, 13 and 8), and family is a huge part of my life. We live on a 20-acre homestead where we raise chickens, goats, pigs, and cows, and we spend a lot of time in the garden. Life on the farm keeps me grounded and reminds me daily of the value of patience, hard work, and slowing down to enjoy what really matters. Faith and community are also central for me. I’m actively involved in my church, and I see my work as an extension of that calling to walk alongside others. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak. Alongside my therapy work, I am starting a tech start-up, I’ve run an online store, and I even dabble in Bitcoin mining. I enjoy the challenge of building things from the ground up and thinking outside the box. I also read a lot, and my libertarian leanings have been shaped by writers like Murray Rothbard. The conservative/libertarian focus on freedom, personal responsibility and low time preference connects deeply with how I approach life and therapy: we’re at our best when we are free to live with responsibility in society, own our choices, and pursue truth apart from coercion. When it comes to therapy itself, I integrate my faith with practical, proven methods. I use Christian Counseling, CBT, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and the Gottman Method to help people grow emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. My goal is to give you a space where your values are respected, your faith is honored, and you feel equipped to face life’s challenges with hope and clarity. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands the importance of faith, family, freedom, and practical tools for change, I’d love to walk with you on your journey.

Hi, I’m Danny – and therapy with me is real, collaborative, and (yes) often filled with laughter. I’m a solutions-focused therapist who believes healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. I bring empathy, humor, and a deep respect for your unique story to every session. My approach is about more than just processing—it's about helping you move forward, feel more like yourself, and build a life that actually feels good to live. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating life transitions, trauma, identity exploration, and relational dynamics. I have a special focus on LGBTQ+ clients and families, and I’m deeply affirming of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship structures. Whether you’re coming out, going through a breakup, shifting family roles, or recovering from difficult past experiences—I’m here to walk with you, not ahead of you. You won’t get generic nods or vague advice from me. Instead, we’ll work together to find practical tools that fit your real life, while also giving space to feel, reflect, and grow. My style is down-to-earth, warm, and direct—like a supportive conversation with someone who really gets it. Therapy can be transformative, and it can also be human and even kind of fun. If you’re looking for someone who will take your challenges seriously without making the process feel like a chore, we might be a great fit.

My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by a lifelong curiosity about people—their inner worlds, their relationships, and their capacity for growth. Before entering the field, I found myself drawn again and again to conversations that went beneath the surface. During my training, I was especially moved by work with individuals navigating complex relational histories, identity questions, and emotional overwhelm. I saw how transformative it could be to have someone really listen—to not just problem-solve, but to bear witness with care. That experience deepened my commitment to relational and psychodynamic therapy, and to creating spaces where healing can happen through insight, connection, and trust. What continues to motivate me is seeing clients uncover strength, hope, or clarity they didn’t realize was there. I believe in therapy not just as a space to “fix” something, but as a way to reconnect with yourself and your agency in the world.

Hi, I'm Elena. I've been a therapist for 13 years, and a person navigating the world for much longer. Of course, in this context, the therapist part is the important part, but I want you to know that I am an empathetic and compassionate person first and foremost, which greatly influences my style of therapy. The things that made me an sensitive kid now make me a patient, dedicated therapist, with the important addition of boundaries and balance. I greatly enjoy the process of building a sturdy relationship with each client so they can be seen, heard, and supported. I take this role very seriously and put great care into showing up for my clients with kindness, trustworthiness, and solidarity. I have a background in clinical social work. From the time I began studying social work, its philosophy resonated deeply with me: it is client-centered and strengths-based with an emphasis on dignity for all, regardless of background or identity. These are challenging times to be someone who cares about people, but I proudly do my best to be welcoming and inclusive. These are points of pride and strength, not weakness.

I believe in an individual's ability to change and recover. I have co-authored articles published in the field of addictions, specifically harm reduction and homelessness. I have worked in research labs studying Bipolar Disorder, Autism, and the Gut/Brain axis. I have witnessed extreme forms of resilience, and I will work to translate this into your life. I have my Master's in Social Work and am educated in how our social and political systems impact mental health. I am also social justice-minded. I can provide a safe shelter for those overwhelmed by current affairs. I can help teach you skills to manage the traumatic stress that so many experience daily. Most recently, I worked in the depths of Philadelphia's opiate crisis at an inpatient drug and alcohol center where I provided both individual and group therapy. Hello, my name is Geovanni Charles and I am a Licensed Practical Counselor in the state of PA. Originally from New York with a Caribbean background, I saw many instances growing up where mental health was at play, without many people aware of the extent it influenced everyone. My vision is one where mental health can be appreciated and provided to all, because we all have a right to be given help, especially when it comes to health. My mission is to help bridge that gap and provide mental health access to everyone, regardless of their class or status.

I'm an artist and art therapist based in Philadelphia, PA. I've worked within the community mental health field for more than a decade, providing group and individual counseling and art therapy. As a therapist, I lead with kindness, compassion, and humor. I believe that connection is the foundation of healing. I feel passionately about the importance of community care and the deep, transformative potential of creative expression. I’ve personally experienced how art can be a tool for processing trauma and making sense of life’s challenges. I believe every person has a unique and valuable perspective to share, and that your voice matters. I also have an old cat who may make an appearance from time to time. I love connecting with nature, birding, hiking, and being outdoors. I enjoy baking, making art, dancing, collecting books I hope to read, and tea. I dabble in tarot cards, reiki, and playing music.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Pennsylvania rather than a city like Philadelphia?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

Will my therapist take EAP:Evernorth?

Yes! If you use EAP:Evernorth you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have EAP:Evernorth you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
