Ciara Dickens is a licensed professional counselor who empowers her clients to better manage their lives primarily by emphasizing personal strengths and resiliency and by teaching clients the necessary skills to improve their symptoms and relationships. Previous experience has included but is not limited to assisting clients with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relational conflict, and adjustment to major life changes. Ciara’s primary therapeutic approach includes the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Solution-Focused Therapy, but she will frequently utilize different therapeutic approaches to best serve clients and their presenting needs. Ciara uses the 7 dimensions of wellness (physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental, and occupational) to help clients identify their needs and assists them in creating goals that will empower them to bring about significant positive life changes. Ciara’s therapeutic style is focused on engaging in active listening and providing empathy as well as a safe, non-judgmental environment for clients to share their concerns. Ciara’s goals are: to help clients understand their feelings, discuss psychosocial factors that have contributed to their wellness and mental health, and explore their options for addressing their presenting problems, including discussing the potential outcomes of their choices.
In the first session, the client will provide a brief overview of their family members, current living situation, personal interests, significant health concerns, and religion if applicable. The remaining time will be to discuss the client's mental health struggles and identify goals for ongoing treatment.
Ciara is solution-focused in her treatment style and can assist clients in identifying practical daily steps to help them achieve their mental health goals while also exploring psychosocial history to help clients better understand the contributing factors to the development of their current presenting symptoms and concerns.

No-Show/Cancellation Policy: The client is responsible for canceling and rescheduling their upcoming sessions in the event of a scheduling conflict. Please be aware that clients will be charged a no-show fee if their appointment is canceled within 24 hours of a scheduled session. Clients will also be charged a no-show fee if they miss their session.
Ciara holds an additional major in Bible. Ciara has provided Christian counseling and spiritual encouragement in a variety of settings: traditional outpatient therapy in an office setting, spiritual encouragement and visitation in her local hospital, and she has facilitated grief groups in church settings. Christian ethics based upon the Holy Scriptures provide the framework for discussion and guidance.
