My counseling style is empathic and conversational, grounded in respect, sensitivity, and compassion. We'll incorporate your experiences, feelings, and values into a meaningful life story. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, narrative, and evidence-based strategies while allowing space for rediscovery, growth, and repair. I specialize in depression, self-esteem, substance use and misuse, men's mental health, and relationship issues. Relationships are often the most important things in our lives, and all treatment holds this at its core. When we pursue change, we strengthen our relationships and become better partners, parents and friends. I strive to meet the client where they're at and tailor the approach based on their needs. My style is empathic and supportive. We will figure out where and how you'd like to make changes, uncover the patterns that have kept you stuck, and do the rewarding work of letting go of the things that aren't working for you anymore.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll explore where you're at and what brings you here. We'll discuss what you'd like to change and begin uncovering patterns that may have kept you stuck. My approach is empathic and conversational, creating a safe space to begin your healing journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With over 20 years of experience, I am so grateful to have been part of so many people's journeys of discovery and repair. I believe in the power of self-searching to transform lives. Helping people reconnect with joy, purpose, and meaningful relationships drives my work. Opening our minds and hearts to all possibilities is how we get back on track and begin healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are men who are navigating challenges such as depression, relationship difficulties, and substance misuse, and who are open to exploring the emotional roots of these struggles. I work best with men who may feel stuck in unhelpful patterns but are willing to better understand their emotions and how these impact their relationships. Through a supportive and nonjudgmental approach, I help clients build emotional awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, and create more secure, meaningful connections in their lives.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

In my therapy practice, I integrate psychodynamic therapy by helping clients explore unconscious patterns, early attachment experiences, and the ways past relationships shape present emotions and behaviors. I focus on increasing insight, especially around recurring themes, defenses, and internal conflicts. Alongside this, I use Relational Life Therapy to be more active and direct in the room, addressing how clients show up in relationships in real time. I balance empathy with honest feedback, helping clients build accountability, develop healthier relational skills, and create more authentic, connected partnerships.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is about helping clients identify, experience, and reshape their core emotional responses—especially in relationships. In practice, you: Track emotional patterns (e.g., conflict cycles between partners or internal emotional loops). Access underlying primary emotions (like fear, shame, or attachment needs beneath anger or withdrawal). Validate and reframe these emotions so they make sense in the client’s context. Guide new emotional experiences by helping clients express vulnerable needs and respond differently to each other. The goal is to shift rigid, negative interaction cycles into secure, responsive emotional bonds, whether in couples, families, or individual therapy.
