I believe so many of us already have the capacity to become our best selves, but something gets in the way. Past experiences, anxiety, patterns we’ve learned, or ways we’ve had to cope that no longer serve us.
I work with children, teens, adults, and parents who feel stuck or held back in some way, and are ready to start understanding why. Together, we look at what’s underneath those patterns and begin to gently remove the things that are no longer helping you grow.
My approach is warm, supportive, and real. I want you to feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are, while also helping you move forward in a way that feels more aligned and authentic to you.
Therapy isn’t about becoming someone completely different. It’s about coming back to yourself, with more clarity, confidence, and the ability to move through life in a way that feels better.
If you’re ready to step into that version of yourself, I’d love to connect.

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in the same patterns? You don’t have to navigate it alone.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 25 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and families create healthier relationships, manage anxiety, and build emotional resilience. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs.
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Ecosystemic Family Structural Therapy (EFST) to help clients better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but meaningful change is possible. I look forward to supporting you and your family on that journey.
Do you feel lost on your path? Our life's journey is not always as clear as we would like it to be. We find ourselves in doubt and unsure - sometimes about work or family life or our romantic relationships. As we hurry through life fulfilling multiple roles, we can lose touch with our authentic Self and symptoms of depression may appear.
Valleys are a natural part of everyone's life but you do not need to suffer through these alone. I will be here for you, to listen and give you the safe space to figure things out. It is often in the hard times that we grow the most. I am here for you.
I can help you navigate through change: job loss, grief, family estrangement, divorce/breakup, gender exploration, working on anxious attachment or people-pleasing. Together, we can work to integrate trauma, depression, anxiety and other symptoms into a life that feels worthwhile, however you define that. There's definitely more than one path for healing, and what can look like stability to some can be uncomfortably stifling to others. I will utilize a combination of narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, DBT/CBT skills (very optional!), feminist therapy and insight-oriented therapy to help you find your way forward.
My biggest rule in therapy is "no trauma shaming." That is, if you are sharing your trauma and include a qualifier such as "other people have it worse," I will remind you that your trauma is valid! Surviving trauma is difficult enough; shame is a log lying on the train tracks. We can move it, and move forward, with the correct equipment.

In my free-time, I am enjoy spending time with my family. During this time, we like to do things outdoors, such as playing pickleball, hiking, paddleboarding, or just relaxing.
As a working professional myself, I know how difficult it can be to find a physical or mental health provider that works "after hours." I aim to meet you where you are, and sometimes that means after work, after class, or after the kids are in bed! I offer sessions from 6:00pm to 10:00pm in order to best assist with tackling the demands of your busy day.
Hello! My name is Zach Soohy. I am a PA licensed mental health counselor and have worked with clients in several mental health fields for the last 9 years. I own, operate, and counsel through my own LLC practice (Forged Through Adversity LLC) that specializes in helping clients work through trauma, abuse, grief, ADHD, and self-worth/self-esteem issues, though I also have worked with many other kinds of mental health and addiction-based issues as well. I look forward to helping you as well if you desire! I understand that the decision to seek mental health counseling is often a challenging one for many people, but simply by considering it, you have taken a very positive step towards improving your life in noticeable and meaningful ways.
