Hello, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. I received my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University in 2011. I have been practicing as a counselor for 13 years. I help clients identify, develop, and implement positive coping skills that target specific areas of need within their daily lives. I also help the client to establish a positive and safe environment in which they feel comfortable discussing their concerns and experiences.
During the first session, I will introduce myself as your therapist as well as discuss any questions or concerns that you may have for therapy. I will also discuss the expectations for therapy sessions such as attendance and practice policies. I will gather information about your current situation to better understand the desire for counseling. I will help you establish a rapport and safe environment by allowing you to openly discuss your areas of concern as well as a possible treatment plan moving forward.
Having worked as a counselor for the past 13 years, I feel that I have developed an ability to connect with clients to identify what their concern is. I feel that I have enhanced my active listening skills over the course of career to allow the client the opportunity to tell their story.
I enjoy working with children and adolescents from ages 11 years old to 18 years old to help identify issues that impact their ability to function in their daily lives such as anxiety, depression, peer relationships, etc. I also enjoy working with adults struggling with anxiety and depression as well as developing and implementing positive coping skills and behavior modification techniques to ease their daily living.
