LPC, 14 years of experience
Hello! My name is Sarah and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), and Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC) based in Pennsylvania. I earned my Master's degree from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM and have been practicing since 2012. My goal is to help my clients access their authentic selves and build their self-worth through a holistic, creative, and transformational process.
During our first session, we will spend time going over your goals for therapy and collaborating to create a plan for treatment to ensure we are honoring the time we spend together.
Having worked with many different populations over the years, including refugees, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and those struggling with the disease of addiction, I've developed a strong sense of empathy and compassion for a wide variety of issues. It is my honor to provide a safe and inclusive space to explore and grow.
I have experience working with those struggling with mental health issues including depression and anxiety, as well as focusing on addiction and trauma. I also have specialized training in addressing shame issues through Brene Brown's "Daring Way" program. My nurturing approach will benefit clients who are searching for meaning and purpose, and interested cultivating joy in their lives. Clients who identify as neurodiverse can feel safe reaching out, as I embrace and validate the lived experiences of my clients. You are the expert on your life!
I am a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist and may encourage art making as part of the therapeutic process. Additionally, I use mindfulness-based techniques and a strengths-based approach.
