Hi, I’m Danny – and therapy with me is real, collaborative, and (yes) often filled with laughter. I’m a solutions-focused therapist who believes healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. I bring empathy, humor, and a deep respect for your unique story to every session. My approach is about more than just processing—it's about helping you move forward, feel more like yourself, and build a life that actually feels good to live. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating life transitions, trauma, identity exploration, and relational dynamics. I have a special focus on LGBTQ+ clients and families, and I’m deeply affirming of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship structures. Whether you’re coming out, going through a breakup, shifting family roles, or recovering from difficult past experiences—I’m here to walk with you, not ahead of you. You won’t get generic nods or vague advice from me. Instead, we’ll work together to find practical tools that fit your real life, while also giving space to feel, reflect, and grow. My style is down-to-earth, warm, and direct—like a supportive conversation with someone who really gets it. Therapy can be transformative, and it can also be human and even kind of fun. As a clinician trained in EFT and EMDR accompanied by being a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional I lean into trauma informed care, attachment and family systems. My history includes a 25-year teaching career and a slow transition to a full-time therapist in the last 8 years. The classroom experience is where I learned the foundational structure and hands-on impact of counseling (as teachers are literally everything to everybody).

I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 35 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.

As a therapist, the most important aspect of therapy is working together to create goals for therapy and create a path for meaningful change. Change is an element that is uncomfortable to most people, but by working together, we can establish lasting change through the use of each individuals strengths and by providing support. My approach is practical, I work from a cognitive perspective using cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical therapy, exposure response prevention, and positive psychology.

Hello and Welcome, I'm so glad you're here! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania with almost 24 years of experience working with children and teens along with their parents/ caregivers. Having worked with children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings including clinical outpatient, school, home, and Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services (BHRS), and as a former high school and middle school counselor, I help clients with anxiety, depression, stress, autism, career and life focus, and behavioral concerns to become their best self. Hello! My name is Kelly Brock and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania and also in Iowa. Maybe you are just feeling stuck, and don't know why? Or maybe you know why, but don't quite understand what tools to use or how to use them to get yourself to that next level up in self-understanding and comfort? I believe finding one's peace in life is a journey of exploration… Sometimes our human side tends to make the exploration in life's journey a tad bit complicated. When we know more about ourselves (and others)... we are just able to navigate life better!

(They/She) I began my professional career in 2005 working as a caseworker helping children and families maintain safe and healthy environments as well as financial stability. Since then I have completed masters degrees in counselor education and clinical counseling and was first licensed as a professional counselor in 2014. I'm currently credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. In my career, I've been privileged to serve many individuals in crisis, community based, and outpatient counseling settings. I've worked with individuals experiencing mood and anxiety concerns, addiction, trauma, and severe and debilitating mental health issues. Also, as a gender and sexually diverse member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am well suited to address the unique needs of individuals exploring ideas related to their own gender and sexuality or that of a loved one.

The only constant in life is change. I see my primary role as therapist to be acting as steward and support for a client as they grow and change. I strive to create a safe a supportive space where a client can explore their identity without fear of judgement. I also seek to support my clients during their road to recovery from past trauma, attachment issues, and relationship struggles. I have been working as a therapist trained in supporting folx identifying as LGBTQIA+ as well as trans and gender variant, and have had the honor of supporting teens and adults during their gender exploration and transition. I have exensive training and experience in this area, including training from the CHOP Gender Clinic and through the Mazzoni Center in Philadelphia. Seeking therapeutic support can be a frightening and stressful experience and I seek to be a grounding support person who can provide the feedback and tools necessary to survive and thrive during this process.

Fulfilling our potential is a lifelong journey of becoming more at peace with ourselves, deepening the intimacy in our relationships, being more authentically human, and feeling more alive each day. Along the way, certain challenges arise to cause us distress or confusion. Such moments can make us feel held back, afraid, or unsure of where to go from here. But these moments can also be the points of growth and healing from which we renew ourselves in ways we did not think possible. It is a great privilege helping men and women in their search to improve their relationship with themselves and others, to lessen the burden of emotional pain, to experience freedom from addictions, or to embark on new life challenges - to find the hope and courage needed to take those important next steps.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Pennsylvania rather than a city like Philadelphia?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

Will my therapist take Oxford?

Yes! If you use Oxford you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Oxford you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
