About me

Hi, I am Jackie If you are taking the time to read my profile that means that you have made the decision to get some support for yourself or someone you love. Pat yourself on the back, taking the first step is the most difficult and you have just done that. I have been a social worker for over 20 years in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. I earned my BSW in 2001 from LaSalle University and my MSW in 2004 from Temple University. I obtained my LSW license in 2007 and my LCSW license in 2010. I have worked in the home, community, school, and in-patient hospital settings. I enjoy working with diverse groups of clients. I pride myself on providing individual and strengths based clinical support to my clients. I use humor, honesty, and radical acceptance in the work I do with my clients. I use a blend of therapeutic styles based on the individual needs of my client. I do use self -disclosure about my own trauma if I feel that it is beneficial to my client and the work we are doing together. Establishing and building rapport is paramount to any working relationship. I am easy to establish rapport with and am very outgoing. I am passionate about the work that I do and that shows through during sessions with my clients. I believe that every person deserves to be accepted, celebrated, and loved for who they are. I believe that my purpose as a social worker is to partner and support my clients in becoming the best versions of themselves. I am a childhood sexual abuse survivor, a domestic violence survivor, a date rape survivor, and a spiritual gangsta. I am also a mother of 5 children ( 3 human and 2 canine), a wife, a daughter, a sister, an Aunt, a friend, and a step daughter. I wear many different hats, just like my clients do. :) I look forward to connecting with you soon.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My clients can expect to be actively listened to and supported by me during our time together. My clients can expect to have a partnership with me where I help them to help themselves with whatever they are struggling with at the time ie: anxiety, depression, family conflict, etc. My clients will be validated, heard, and supported by me in our work together. My clients will be accepted for being their authentic and true selves. My clients will not feel judged. My clients will feel empowered at the end of our time together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My specialties include but are not limited to working with resistant and challenging children, families, and individuals. I have worked with victims of sexual trauma throughout my whole social work career as well as victims of childhood sexual, physical, emotional, and mental abuse. I have worked with both neurodiverse and neurotypical clients. I enjoy working with clients from different socio economic, cultural and racial backgrounds. I am constantly trying to better myself as a social worker, mother, and woman. The only way I feel I can do this is by learning from the work that I do with others.

Jackie is the most helpful therapist I've had. She consistently encourages me to keep up good habits while helping me understand that I do not need to feel any guilt or shame for my setbacks. She has also been extremely open-minded and supportive with regards to my identity.

I've been with Jackie for over a year now. Having been through many different therapist over the years, I can say, Jackie is a whole new caliber! She listens, cares, motivates, inspires, and empowers her clients. I've never felt like a number to her, she feels like Family. She really has become the one person I can count on when I need it the most. She celebrates my children. I don't know how I got so lucky! Thank You Jackie, For Everything.

Hello! I was incredibly reluctant to start going to therapy before until I met Jackie. I have never ever met a therapist like her. Jackie is the most kind person I have ever met. She is the only person that I want to speak to on my bad days and the first person I want to speak to on my good days. Jackie has changed my life completely just by supporting and validating me. She’s very personable and does not speak to you like a robot. I will always always recommend Jackie to others.
