New to Grow
Hi there! I am a big sports fan who loves spending time with family, sharing laughter, and enjoying great food. Music and outdoor activities are two of my favorite things. I’m always eager to learn something new and love starting my days early. Helping others reach their full potential and witnessing those ah-ha moments truly inspires me. You’ll often catch me embarrassing my family with my corny dad jokes or dance moves. I’ve worked in a variety of therapeutic settings as a school counselor, acute therapist, and suicide prevention therapist. My lifelong motto is, "do your best so you can give your best."
In our first session I like to get to know my clients and what things are salient to them. We will explore your goals and the importance of being kind to your best friend which is you. We will discuss what success from a therapeutic perspective means to you, and how you measure it.
What makes my approach unique is I am a person who understands how unpredictable life can be. What that means is, I understand we have peaks and valleys which can change day to day and sometimes throughout the day. I encourage my clients to be kind to themselves and to understand that as long as they have breath in their bodies they have the ability to invoke the change they want to see. I go on the journey with my clients to understand who they are versus their ideal self and work with you to be your best self.
My dream client is anyone who is looking to become their best self, perfect people are not welcome. None of us are exempt from life's curve balls and setbacks. If you have issues, struggle or just need a nonjudgmental listening ear, look no further. I am here to partner with you to break through the trauma, hurt, and mental blockages. I am positioned to work with children, adults, and everyone in between. I have experience working with anger issues, depression, anxiety, ADHD, couples, crisis, grief, self-harm, racism, self-esteem issues, men's issues, peer relationships, suicidal ideations, trauma and PTSD.
In utilizing CBT, I focus on the connection between ones thoughts feeling and behaviors. We discuss self -talk and cognitive distortions.
My approach with Solution Focused Brief Therapy is simply something worked before when you were faced with a challenge or dilemma. Let's work together to find out how we can tailor that mindset to your current needs.
With the Strength-Based modality, I will work with my clients to awaken the strength that is within. We are stronger than we think sometimes it can be challenging to remember that when your walking through the fire. Let's flex those muscles
