Hello, I'm Khalilah Yadullah, a psychotherapist with 18+ years of experience in the Mental Health field. My background includes working in school settings, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Before specializing in mental health, I spent 6 years working with children and families in the area of Health and Human Development. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania.
In our first session, you can expect a supportive and non-judgmental space where you'll feel validated and heard. We’ll create a safe environment for you to share your thoughts and emotions freely. Together, we'll begin to explore different parts of yourself, focusing on processing and releasing any trauma you’ve experienced. You’ll also learn techniques to let go of self-judgment, allowing space for healing and growth. Most importantly, this session will be the start of building a meaningful connection and establishing a path toward deeper self-awareness and personal transformation.
As a provider of psychotherapy, I feel my greatest strengths include creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their emotions, fostering strong therapeutic rapport, and utilizing evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual's unique needs. I excel in active listening, empathy, and helping clients develop practical coping strategies. Additionally, I am committed to ongoing professional development, ensuring that I stay informed of the latest advancements in therapy techniques to provide the highest level of care.
I am best positioned to serve adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are navigating complex emotions, interpersonal conflicts, and challenging life experiences. Adolescents may need support as they manage the pressures of school, identity development, and peer relationships. Adults may seek guidance in coping with stress, trauma, anxiety, or life transitions. Couples may benefit from working through communication barriers and rebuilding trust, while families may need assistance in resolving conflicts, fostering understanding, and building healthier connections. My approach provides a safe, empathetic space for growth, healing, and personal development. I am also positioned to serve clients of color who have not always felt seen or fully understood in therapeutic settings. These clients may have experienced racial trauma, which can deeply affect their sense of identity, safety, and well-being. My approach is rooted in providing a safe, compassionate space where they can explore the complexities of their experiences, heal from the pain of discrimination, and work through the unique challenges that come with navigating systemic racism and cultural marginalization. I serve couples navigating challenges related to infidelity, polygamy, polygyny and polyamorous by providing support through trust-building techniques, open communication, and emotional healing. For infidelity, I work with couples to process the betrayal, rebuild trust, and create a healthier foundation for the relationship moving forward. With polygamy, I help partners explore boundaries, develop mutual respect, and ensure that everyone’s emotional needs are being met in a healthy, respectful manner.
