New to Grow
As a holistic therapist, I believe real change happens when you feel understood, supported, and given practical tools that fit your life. I’m down-to-earth, collaborative, and genuinely curious about what makes you *you*. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected to the life you want—one step at a time. I am not a "blank slate" therapist and will both feel with you and for you when you are in a tough situation. While I consider myself a safe and nonjudgmental person, I will challenge you once we have built a relationship to ensure you are focused on your growth.
In our first session, we will take time to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. I will ask questions to understand your goals, what you’ve been carrying, and what support feels most helpful to you. I will also explore what hasn't been so helpful in the past to create a plan unique to your needs. In every first meeting I have with my clients, I make it a point to get to know the strengths of my clients that will help us work towards growth more easily. I also tend to leave the first session having taught at least one new tool or skill to help you manage your mental health in the upcoming week.
My greatest strengths are creating a warm, nonjudgmental space and helping people feel truly seen. I am skilled at breaking big challenges into manageable steps and adapting my approach to what works best for each person—whether that’s practical tools, deeper emotional work, or grounding techniques. Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm presence, my ability to make hard conversations feel easier, and the way I help them build confidence and clarity in their relationships and within themselves.
My clients are often people who feel overwhelmed in their friendships and relationships —they may struggle to speak up, set boundaries, or hold onto their sense of self. They may have experienced a loss of their own identity through their roles as a parent, a partner, an employee, the "perfect" child to their parents, etc. My clients grow through discovering their own passions again and learning how to have a voice in their conflicts with others. I also work well with clients who are healing from trauma and want support navigating the emotions and patterns that come with it. Trauma affects not only the mind but every aspect of our body, brain, and nervous system as well. Working with me allows my clients to unlock and release trauma that has been stored in them for a few months to a few decades. My ideal clients are ready for change, even if they’re not sure where to start, and want a space where they can feel safe, understood, and guided toward healthier connections with themselves and others.
Do you feel like you want a therapist who can help you solve a problem rather than just validate your emotions constantly? With SFBT, I help people quickly understand what they want their life to look like and what small steps can get them there. In sessions, we focus on your strengths, what’s already going well, and what changes would make the biggest difference right now. This approach helps us find practical, doable solutions without getting stuck in the problem. I am always validating and nonjudgmental of your process, but the biggest difference between SFBT and other treatment methods is that SFBT allows you to move past the emotions and into the healing.
I am a big believer that our thoughts influence our feelings which lead to our behaviors. This belief is at the root of Cognitive Behavior Therapy. In CBT, I help you to examine your unhelpful thought patterns that eventually lead to negative behaviors such as overthinking, avoiding confrontation, and more. I enjoy watching clients experience break-throughs when they start to internalize new, healthier thought patterns.
Having been trained in TF-CBT for about two years now, I have witnessed the power of trauma work with the youth and teens that I have worked with. TF-CBT utilizes all of the strengths of CBT while creating a specific route to address mental health issues related to a traumatic experience. With TF-CBT work, teens and youth will be able to move past their triggers, regain their self-confidence, and cope with large emotions better.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help people make space for difficult feelings without letting those feelings run the show. "Negative" emotions are an important part of a healthy life. The more we try to avoid them, the harder it hurts when we experience them. In our work together, we focus on what truly matters to you and build habits that move you toward those values. We practice simple grounding and mindfulness skills so you can handle stress more calmly and stay connected to the kind of life you want to create.
