Hello, my name is Elizabeth DeLullo and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. One of the best things about coming to therapy is the amount of courage it took for you to get here. There is nothing I dislike more than to see human suffering. I have gone through my own and was determined to not let it ruin my life. Therapy is a collaboration between client and therapist and together we will focus on your strengths and help you understand your worthiness was never in question. Other times you may require more skills and techniques to learn in order to overcome your concerns and issues. My primary focus is anxiety, depression, self esteem, phobias, fears, women's issues, OCD symptoms, agoraphobia, and finding meaning to life and answer questions like, why am I here? I also volunteered at a Hospice and did my internship there and have knowledge in grief and bereavement therapies. I have also worked with incarcerated individuals going in and out of the prison system. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Ashford University and my Masters in Science In Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University. I have over 11 years experience working with people from age 4 to 89. I am blessed as these people taught me so much and I love the work I do. I am of the belief that the way we think directly affects the way we feel. I also use a person centered approach, meaning I follow my client's lead and the direction they wish to take. The great thing is, is that there are so many different sets of skills and interventions to utilize, we will work together to find the ones that work best for you. It all depends on each individual's specific needs and wants.
In our first session together, we will get to know each other and you will have the opportunity to air out what it is you are feeling and what issues you are having. We will talk about any challenges you are experiencing and together we will come up with a plan for both of us to work through going forward in order for you to find some relief.
I feel my compassion for others is one of my biggest strengths. I also feel that each and every one of us is a soul first having a human experience. That means you have the answers, I just help you find those answers and rediscover them. It can be awesome gaining perspectives. You will learn much about yourself. You can reach out by calling (786) 755-1863 reception+Elizabeth4981@growtherapy.com https://provider.growtherapy.com/book-appointment?id=4981&ref=prov to make and appointment If you have any difficulty, my cell is 814-389-6346 to help get set up. I also offer walk and talk therapy that is for clients close enough as I do not have an office, but we go to parks or hiking paths for those that like to be outside.
I like the idea of empirically based therapy showing that something is working. I had a lot of issues myself in my younger years and through the guidance of a wonderful psychologist, began to see and come to understand the way a person thinks has just about everything to do with the way they feel. I teach clients exposure response prevention (desensitization, but they changed the name to a fancier one). ERP is just what is seems and spells out. The client learns to sit with uncertainty and with the uncomfortable feelings of anxiety and not give in to performing rituals or compulsions, the things that feed the fears, and over time, with guidance, their symptoms dissipate. ERP is work but so worth every ounce of effort to be free of your fear.
