Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them - whether that's anxiety, relationship struggles, substance use, or a lingering sense they've lost connection with who they truly are. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, substance use concerns, life transitions, and questions of identity. I specialize in supporting clients experiencing substance use disorders, co-dependency, co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, anxiety, depression, stress, relational patterns, shame, people-pleasing, identity exploration and rebuilding a healthy relationship with self, and religious or spiritual trauma. Many of my clients are working to untangle harmful patterns, rebuild trust with themselves, and create healthier relationships. I have particular interest in supporting individuals unpacking harmful religious experiences or high-control faith environments. Many clients I work with are navigating questions of identity, autonomy, and personal values after feeling pressure to conform to rigid belief systems. Many of the clients I work with are learning to trust their own voice again after years of feeling pressure to meet others' expectations. I understand how deeply faith, identity, family, and community can be intertwined, and I approach this work with care and respect for each person's unique journey. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based. I believe therapy is not a "one-size-fits all" experience, and I tailor the process to each client's needs, values and goals. Seeking greater serenity in your life takes courage. Therapy can be a space to slow down, gain insight, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or silenced along the way. You deserve support as you move toward a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and aligned with who you truly are. I would be honored to walk alongside you in that process.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and many people feel unsure about what to expect. In our first session, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and able to share at your own pace. We will spend time getting to know you, talking about what has brought you to therapy, and exploring patters or challenges you may be navigating. You will be met with compassion, curiosity, and a respectful, non-judgmental approach. Many clients arrive unsure of where to begin, and that is completely okay. You don't need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Your experiences and story matter and are worth sharing, and my role is to listen in a way that helps you feel heard, seen, and valued. Our work together is collaborative, and we will move at a pace that feels supportive and manageable for you. My hops it that you leave the first sessions feeling a little more understood, supported, and hopeful about the path forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring over 15 years of experience working in the field of substance use and addiction, supporting individuals as they better understand the patterns that can keep them feeling stuck and helping them move toward healthier, more sustainable ways of living. One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is creating a space where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely valued. Many people come to therapy carrying shame, self-doubt, or the belief that their voice or experiences do not matter. My goal is to create an environment where clients feel heard, supported, and free to explore their story without fear of judgment. I also enjoy helping clients untangle complex patterns - whether those patterns show up in relationships, identity, coping strategies, or beliefs about self-worth. Together we work toward rebuilding trust in oneself, strengthening self-belief, and reconnecting with a more authentic sense of identity. For clients recovering from harmful religious experiences or high-control environments, therapy can also become a place to gently reclaim personal values, autonomy, and a sense of safety within their own body and life. Clients often share that therapy becomes a space where they reconnect with their voice and begin trusting themselves again. I particularly enjoy working with individuals who are curious about themselves and open to exploring the deeper patterns, beliefs, and experiences that have shaped their lives.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are individuals who feel ready to explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be shaping their lives in ways that no longer serve them. Many are navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, stress, relationship patterns, addiction or recovery, codependency, or significant life transitions. I also enjoy supporting individuals navigating recovery who are working not only to maintain sobriety, but also to develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen relationships, rebuild trust with themselves, and create a life that feels meaningful and aligned with their values. Some clients are working to rebuild trust in themselves after years of people-pleasing, shame, or feeling disconnected from their own voice and values. Others may be processing the impact of harmful religious experiences or high-control environments and are seeking a space where those experiences can be explored with care and respect. I work well with individuals who are open to self-reflection and curious about understanding themselves more deeply. Together we explore the patterns that influence relationships, coping strategies, identity, and self-worth so that clients can move toward greater clarity, autonomy, and a more authentic sense of self. Clients often come to me for support with: Addiction and Recovery Codependency and people-pleasing Relationship patterns Religious or spiritual trauma Identity exploration and self-worth development Life transitions
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to hep clients recognize patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to distress. Together we work to develop healthier ways of thinking and responding that support emotional well-being and personal growth.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My approach is grounded in a person-centered philosophy that emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and respect for each client's unique experience. I believe meaningful change happens when individuals feel heard, understood and accepted.
Trauma Informed Care
I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing how past experiences can shape beliefs, emotional responses, and relationships. My goal is to create a safe and collaborative environment where clients can process experiences and build a greater sense of safety and self-trust. I also incorporate mindfulness and body awareness to help clients develop a stronger sense of safety, regulation, and connection with themselves.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing to help clients explore ambivalence and strengthen their own motivation for change. This collaborative approach is especially helpful for individuals navigating recovery or significant life transitions.
Christian Counseling
For clients who desire it, I am comfortable integrating Christian faith and spiritual perspectives into the counseling process. I recognize that faith can be an important part of a person's identity, values, and healing journey. I also strive to create a space where individuals can thoughtfully explore questions, doubts of past religious experiences in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.
