(she/her)
My name is Amanda Kriger, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, earned in 2016. I’ve been providing therapy services since then and obtained my LPC license in 2022. My experience includes working with adults facing substance use and co-occurring disorders, as well as individuals involved in the criminal justice system. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with clients of all ages—including children, adolescents, and adults—in both individual and group settings. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a clinical supervisor for pre-licensed clinicians, supporting their growth and professional development.
In our first session together, you can expect a warm and welcoming space where you’ll be met with genuine curiosity and care. My goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy, while making sure you feel comfortable and heard. We’ll take time to explore your current concerns, what you hope to achieve, and what’s most important to you. I tailor my approach to each individual, so our work together will reflect your unique needs and goals. Together, we’ll begin building a trusting relationship and setting the foundation for meaningful progress.
My primary goal is to help individuals understand how their past experiences shape their present, so they can create a healthier and more fulfilling future. I strive to empower each person to recognize their strengths, potential, and the possibilities ahead of them. In our work together, I provide a safe and supportive space where you can express your thoughts and emotions freely. With a warm, down-to-earth, and occasionally humorous approach, I aim to help you strengthen your relationship with yourself and enhance your overall quality of life.
I am best positioned to work with individuals experiencing anxiety and complex trauma, especially those who feel stuck in patterns shaped by past experiences. Many of my clients struggle with persistent worry, emotional overwhelm, or a sense of being disconnected from the present moment. I work best with clients who are open, curious, and willing to be challenged in a supportive environment. A readiness to engage in self-reflection, learn new coping strategies, and actively participate in the therapeutic process is important. This work can be difficult at times, and meaningful progress often comes from a willingness to explore uncomfortable thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My clients’ goals often include reducing anxiety, processing and integrating past trauma, and building a stronger sense of emotional regulation and self-awareness. A central focus of our work is helping clients feel more grounded and able to live in the present, rather than feeling pulled back into the past. Together, we work toward creating a greater sense of safety, resilience, and personal agency, so clients can move forward with more clarity, confidence, and connection in their lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I draw upon Cognitive-Behavioral Theory to assist clients in gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and fostering self-confidence to navigate any emotional challenges they may encounter.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I help the client analyze the situation step by step, exploring what triggered it and how thoughts, feelings, and actions unfolded. I validate the client’s emotions — showing understanding and acceptance — while also guiding them to find healthier ways to respond.
Psychodynamic
The goal isn’t quick problem-solving, but deep understanding and emotional insight. Over time, as the client becomes more aware of unconscious motivations, they can make healthier choices and experience lasting psychological growth.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I help clients identify and build on their strengths rather than dwelling on their problems. In our sessions, I focus on what’s working in their lives and what changes they would like to see, guiding them toward clear and realistic goals
