Hi, I’m Shannon. I am a licensed clinical social worker providing telehealth therapy to adults throughout the state of Oregon. My practice is deeply rooted in trauma-informed care, client autonomy, and compassion. I specialize in working with individuals navigating PTSD, Complex PTSD (CPTSD), neurodivergence (including autism), as well as co-occurring anxiety and depression. When participating in therapy with me, you are the expert on your own life. I combine scientific knowledge with a humble acknowledgment that human experiences are vast and ever-evolving. My approach is client-centered and integrative. Instead of relying on temporary quick fixes, we will combine psychoeducation, practical skills, and deep self-exploration to foster sustainable growth aligned with your personal values and goals. When I’m not working, you can find me embracing either my nerdy side or crafty side (or both!), caring for my pets, or admiring tortoises—animals that remind me daily that patience, steadfastness, and moving slow is often the fastest way to truly get where we want to go.

I value authenticity, empathy, and self-awareness, both for myself, my clients, and as a critical part of the therapeutic process (I also take advantage of the healing power of laughter whenever possible!). I aim to normalize and validate my clients’ experiences without judgment, and above all, provide the most basic of human needs: to feel seen and heard. My name is Stephanie (or Stevie, either is fine) and I have been providing therapy in NJ exclusively via telehealth for about the last 5 years (prior to that, in person). I have a deep passion and respect for the power of therapy to change lives, which I have been privileged to witness in my work with clients, as well as in my personal life, both through the consistent use of therapy as part of my own self-care, as well as having spent the last 20 years raising two children with special needs. If you have been struggling with symptoms of depression or anxiety, particularly if they are related to a traumatic experience, I would love the opportunity to work with you to reduce your symptoms and help you experience a present that is not overshadowed by your past. I love working with women ages 20 to 30-something who are still in academia or just starting out in their careers, but also love working with women of any age. I frequently work with survivors of child sexual abuse, as well as those struggling with issues related to self-worth, but work with other conditions as well.

Together, we’ll identify your goals and develop a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship concerns. I’m a licensed clinical social worker who believes therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and genuinely human. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I work intentionally to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and never judged. I often work with adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship stress, attachment wounds, and the lingering impact of difficult experiences. Many of my clients are high-functioning and capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck internally. Together, we slow things down, make sense of patterns, and build practical tools that actually fit your real life. My approach integrates emotion-focused work, strengths-based perspective, psychoeducation, and motivational interviewing. That means we’ll explore both the “why” behind your experiences and the “how” of moving forward. I value clarity and transparency in therapy — I’ll help you understand what we’re doing and why, while keeping the process grounded and collaborative. Clients often describe me as calm, thoughtful, and direct in a supportive way. I’m not here to tell you what to do — I’m here to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your confidence, and move toward the life and relationships you want. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Hello, I'm Samantha a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing virtual therapy to adolescents and adults throughout California and Oregon. I specialize in supporting clients who are managing stress, navigating life transitions, and coping with anxiety. Life can feel overwhelming at times—whether you’re adjusting to a new role, facing uncertainty, or dealing with persistent worry. You don’t have to navigate it alone. I offer a supportive space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing. My approach is client-centered and collaborative. I believe therapy works best as a partnership—one where your voice is valued and your experiences are respected. Together, we’ll explore what’s been weighing on you and identify practical, realistic tools that align with your lifestyle and personal goals. Because no two individuals experience stress or anxiety in the same way, I tailor each session to meet your unique needs. I strive to create a safe, welcoming environment where you can show up as your authentic self. My goal is to help you gain clarity, strengthen coping skills, and build the confidence needed to move forward with intention. Therapy isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating space to grow, heal, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by state rather than a city?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
