When it comes to therapy, I practice from the perspective that the process of therapy is as much an art as it is a science. This means that while there are specific areas of experience or expertise I bring to the table, the course of treatment and our work together is going to be wholly unique to your story, your identity, and an ongoing imagination of the life you wish to live. By working together from a place of safety and empowerment, I am interested in exploring together what it means to heal and live a life that you will come to find meaningful. The collaboration that happens in the process of therapy I strive to cultivate a space that strikes an intentional balance between structured goal setting and an openness to , that what arises in therapy will always be worthy of our slowness and depth the slower we go, and therefore the deeper we go, the faster we may get to the heart of the core questions or issues that have been arising in you and brought you to therapy at this time. I am such an eager learner. I love that this role requires me to hold an open posture and acknowledge that I will be learning for the rest of my life. I am excited to partner with you and learn from your stories and perspectives as well. Outside of work, I am an avid seeker of beauty and moments of awe. I dabble in writing poetry, playing tabletop roleplaying games, creating meals with lots of color, and facilitating playful outdoor adventures. In this season, I am interested in continuing to connect with my ancestry, intersections of privilege, and learning how best we might find liberation, community, and wholeness together.

Hi there, and welcome! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based just outside of Portland, Oregon, and I’m licensed to work with clients in Oregon, Washington, and California. I’ve been practicing for over 18 years and also work full time as a manager in a large healthcare organization, where I support teams and programs focused on helping people grow and thrive. As a therapist, I love helping people get clear on what matters most to them- what they want life to look and feel like, and then walking alongside them as they take steps toward those goals. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, where we’re exploring together what helps you feel more grounded, capable, and connected. A quick note: My practice focuses on working with individuals. While I don’t specialize in couples counseling, there may be times when it’s helpful to invite a partner or loved one into a session as part of your individual work, we’ll talk through that together if it feels right. If you’re looking for therapy for you and your partner together, I encourage finding a therapist who specializes in couples work to ensure you get the most out of that experience.

Namaste, my name is Ashwini Gupta and I am Therapist/Intuitive Life Coach specializing in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Vedanta and Mindfulness-based practices. With 20 plus of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges, I am passionate about empowering my clients to live more meaningful and fulfilling lives truly being in touch with the essence of soul identity. Using ACT as my primary therapeutic approach, I create a warm and non-judgmental space where we can work together to address difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. ACT combines mindfulness, acceptance, and behavior change strategies to guide clients towards psychological flexibility, allowing them to better handle distress and align their actions with their deeply-held values. What is ACT? At its core, ACT is a behavioral therapy: it’s about taking action. But it’s not about just any old action. First, it’s about values-guided action. There’s a big existential component to this model: **What do you want to stand for in life? **What really matters, deep in your heart? **What is the legacy do you want to create for yourself? ACT gets you in touch with what matters in the big picture: your heart’s deepest desires for who you want to be and what you want to do during your brief time on this planet. You then use these core values to guide, motivate, and inspire behavioral change. What is Vedanta? Vedanta is one of the world's oldest philosophies which affirms the oneness of existence and the divinity of the soul. A close look at the word "Vedanta" is revealing: It is the combination of 2 words: "Veda" which means 'knowledge' and "anta" which means 'the goal of'. In this context, knowledge refers to understanding one's own divine nature- meaning and purpose in life.

I value authenticity, empathy, and self-awareness, both for myself, my clients, and as a critical part of the therapeutic process (I also take advantage of the healing power of laughter whenever possible!). I aim to normalize and validate my clients’ experiences without judgment, and above all, provide the most basic of human needs: to feel seen and heard. My name is Stephanie (or Stevie, either is fine) and I have been providing therapy in NJ exclusively via telehealth for about the last 5 years (prior to that, in person). I have a deep passion and respect for the power of therapy to change lives, which I have been privileged to witness in my work with clients, as well as in my personal life, both through the consistent use of therapy as part of my own self-care, as well as having spent the last 20 years raising two children with special needs. If you have been struggling with symptoms of depression or anxiety, particularly if they are related to a traumatic experience, I would love the opportunity to work with you to reduce your symptoms and help you experience a present that is not overshadowed by your past. I love working with women ages 20 to 30-something who are still in academia or just starting out in their careers, but also love working with women of any age. I frequently work with survivors of child sexual abuse, as well as those struggling with issues related to self-worth, but work with other conditions as well.

I am dedicated to supporting individuals navigating crisis, depression, PTSD, and anxiety, offering a compassionate and empowering space for healing. My approach integrates Crisis Stabilization, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing, helping clients build coping strategies, strengthen emotional well-being, and rediscover balance in their lives. Drawing from my military and cultural background, I strive to connect authentically with each client and guide them toward meaningful growth and stability.

Everyone needs assistance and guidance from time to time. I have spent the majority of my career in mental health working with the homeless population, youth, teens and individuals with severe mental health concerns. I have helped individuals to navigate a variety of issues. I am comfortable working with individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum, the LGBTQ+ population, navigating trauma related issues, anxiety, depression, and management of interpersonal relationships. I believe people should be allowed to grow and progress from whatever type of issues they are struggling with while being treating with compassion, respect and care. Each client should leave a session with tools they can implement in their own lives, even if that is just the release of being able to talk about their troubles or concerns. I approach therapy with a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Sometimes our emotions just become too much for us to deal with on our own. I believe my sessions are compassionate, yet challenging enough to help you grow. My experience is not only academic but personal as well. I hope that you will benefit from speaking with me and I can help you enrich your life and reach your full potential. I have most evenings and all day Sundays open at this time for availability. I am hoping to be able to expand my availability even more moving forward.

I’m a warm, insight-oriented therapist who offers a steady, compassionate space for adults navigating grief, relational wounds, and the impact of growing up around emotional chaos or inconsistency. My approach is grounded in deep listening and curiosity—I help clients slow down and make sense of their inner experience, uncovering patterns that may have once been protective but now feel limiting. Together, we create room for new ways of relating—to yourself, to others, and to your story. Healing, in my work, begins with being deeply seen and understood.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by state rather than a city?

Why filter by state rather than a city? When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Trauma and PTSD?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Trauma and PTSD, is filtering therapists in Oregon that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
