What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In their first session with me, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they are encouraged to share their thoughts, concerns, and goals. The initial session is an essential opportunity for me to get to know my clients and understand their unique circumstances. Here's what clients can anticipate: Establishing Trust: I will prioritize building a foundation of trust and rapport. Clients should feel safe and comfortable in sharing their experiences, as this trust is vital for effective counseling. Assessment and Goal Setting: We will discuss the challenges, issues, and goals that are important to the client. I will listen attentively and ask questions to gain a thorough understanding of their situation. Personalized Approach: I will tailor our session to the client's specific needs and concerns. Whether it's addressing immediate crises, developing coping strategies, or setting long-term goals, the session will be customized to their requirements. Collaborative Planning: We will work together to outline a plan for addressing their issues and achieving their goals. This may involve discussing potential counseling techniques, resources, and a general timeline for progress. Exploration of Resources: If needed, I will introduce clients to resources and support networks that may assist them outside of our counseling sessions. This could include referrals to additional services or organizations. Empowerment: Clients can expect to leave the first session with a sense of empowerment and clarity. While meaningful change may take time, the first session will provide a solid starting point for our collaborative journey towards achieving their desired outcomes. Overall, the first session is an opportunity for clients to take the initial steps toward resolving their challenges, guided by a compassionate and experienced counselor who is committed to their well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Multimodal therapy; Problem-solving therapy- Multimodal therapy (MMT) is a type of holistic approach to psychotherapy. I tend to usually involving several therapeutic techniques or approaches at once. The focus tends to be on treating you as the whole person rather than focusing too narrowly on specific symptoms. It is also called "eclectic therapy" or "integrative psychotherapy." Over the years I have noticed that clients would benefit from using more than one type of therapy at a time.

Eclectic

Eclectic therapy is an integrative approach to psychotherapy that aims to discover and implement the most effective treatment for each individual. Instead of following a predefined methodical structure, eclectic therapy pulls from various therapy techniques to treat each person as unique individuals.

Grief Therapy

While distinct in the focus, grief counseling and grief therapy seek to guide clients through their bereavement, ultimately aiming to help them rediscover meaning in life while maintaining a connection to their lost loved one.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation combines the elements of cognitive-behavior therapy, group therapy, and education. The basic aim is to provide the patient and families knowledge about various facets of the illness and its treatment so that they can work together with mental health professionals for a better overall outcome.

Supportive

Supportive therapy is generally defined as a form of psychotherapy that focuses on listening, support, empathy, and managing symptoms. This type of therapy can also involve practicing strategies and techniques to work through difficult times and emotions and may improve self-esteem. Most often, these tasks are behavioral, e.g. behavior rehearsal, role playing, relaxation techniques, graded exposure, visualization and imagery, etc. Clients are often given homework in order to empower them to take an active role in their therapy.
