***Please note: No current evening or weekend appointments available.*** Hello, hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of professional work experience. I am currently licensed in Arkansas, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Florida (tele-health only license). I have experience in helping clients with depression, anxiety, family conflicts, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I strongly believe “change your thoughts, change your life,” and using the CBT and Solutions-Focused approaches can help a person recognize how self-defeating thought patterns can hinder their growth.
A client can expect to share their primary concerns and questions with me during their first session. They will have the opportunity to share what brought them to this point and led them to reach out for additional support. They will have the opportunity to share what they expect to get from treatment and their work with me.
My ability to help people feel comfortable and free to be themselves.
I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming issues that challenge you. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solutions-Focused approaches to help my clients work their way out of what is distressing them. I find these approaches to be very effective because you will begin to recognize what is going through your mind and how it affects your feelings and way that you react/respond to everyday situations.
I often use CBT as a general treatment method to help address depression and anxiety. I strongly believe "change your thoughts, change your life." This focus helps one to really consider the way they "talk" to themselves. As you gain better understanding and insight into unhelpful and problematic self-talk, we will work together to effectively explore, challenge, and change your language to decrease and eliminate negative symptoms.
I often use CPT to treat patients who have experienced trauma. This treatment method is highly effective for trauma work, as I have observed numerous clients experiencing significant benefits from it. By developing the skills to process their thoughts and emotions related to trauma, individuals can move beyond being "stuck" in a trauma mindset. My clients have achieved great success and experienced symptom improvement through their committed efforts.
I enjoy using this treatment method to really “move the needle.” It is effective in addressing challenges. It involves recalling past difficulties and the strategies used to overcome them. The aim is to apply these skills to current issues, promoting problem-solving based on previous successes. YOU are capable and YOU are worthy- this treatment will help remind you of this!
